I just found an item I can scry? What does that mean? And how? And where is it; I don't see it in my inventory.

It's apart of the Antiquities system from Western Skyrim. You need a scrying device in order to scry the lead, and thankfully the leads take no inventory space.

You found a lead for an item, it's in your journal.
Honestly, I'd just suggest googling for antiquities guide, but first of all, you need Greymoor chapter to be able to scry and excavate.

After doing the quest at the western skyrim antiquarian's circle, press "J" and go to the second tab. This shows your leads for the current zone, you can also check all current leads there. Go to the correct zone for the lead, and simply press "E" on the lead in the journal page. It will open the scrying mode, where you have to connect the bottom node to all the eyes(circles).

Then you have to go to each found location, and use the antiquarian's eye from the quickslot menu. You will see a blue light guiding you to the antiquity digsite.

When you find the digsite, you have to dig up the antiquity completely! Do not worry about failing, as you can do it as many times as you want. The digtimer is static by the way, it does not count down... it simply registers your amount of turns.

It’s something you can do when you’ve run out of things to do in ESO.

Thank you, everyone :) I lack Greymoor on my account, sadly. Even with a subscription. (Thought subbing gave you access to all chapters?)

It's a sorta fun mini game that you grind 3 times or more for the same object for no apparent reason so you can try to level up and spend a ton of skill points on before the leads/items you r e a l l y want to try to dig up, expire in your inventory.

    Yup.

    Newest one is not dlc.

So far, about a year later the newest chapter turns into dlc, so far. If you want to play immediately, pay; if you can wait, you'll see it in dlc eventually.

A subscription gives access to all DLC's. Greymoor is an expansion. Expansions, like Morrowind are transformed into DLC eventually.

Don't worry about losing any leads, you can always go get them again.

Scrying is the thing you do while you sit in DPS queues for 25 minutes.

It’s proof that ZOS isn’t really good at making this kind of content. I don’t mind a grind but man this and psjic order skill line are horribly boring. You can make grinds fun but this game fails to do that for the most part.

Thank for I’m almost lvl 7 in scrying.

That's true, but I think it also varies depending on the individual leads and their RNG formulae.

There are some leads I get over and over again-- far more frequently than I actually want. "Oh, great, I got yet another lead for such-and-such, which I've already got a dozen of sitting in my Artaeum Warehouse!" About the only way to stop getting those leads is to let them sit there, never excavate them, and hope they don't have an expiration date.

Then there are the leads which do expire, and it seems like they can be nearly impossible to find a second or third time.

The items I've been getting I've been selling, the ones we can sell, anyway. Once you have one really huge gilded mammoth skull for your house, you really don't need another.

Now you get some decent gear too, ring of the pale order restores health based on the damage you do but you can not be healed by others. Nice for soloing stuff.
Ring of the wild hunt give an +45% speed buff then out of combat, it speeds things up :)
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

A horrible mini game with a bright light flash that gave this one a migraine once.

    Never tried it again.
