Also it's kinda same stuff: "we messed up somewhere, but look, here's new bunch of promises". It looks nice and they haven't promised any sacrifices before, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Maybe they just don't have anything for new systems in this year but present it as skipping them in favor of fixes.

If you want to keep up-to-date on announcements then a frequent reading of the Dev Tracker on the forum plus the website News column is essential. It would doubtless help a lot of people if the Dev Tracker was accessible through the mobile forum version.

I don't think you should put much stock in that letter. They weren't very specific. This also not the first time they have said similar things and failed to live up to them.

You can't have an "aggressive development schedule" & actually fix performance.

ZOS got exactly what they wanted, a massive buyout/payday deal years in the making.

Letter is basically the same as the last one from 2019. "Great year, tought challenges, we will work on performance, I promise". Standard PR stuff

Guys, remember when they refined Cyrodiil performance in 2017? Yeah, me neither...

They talk big every year and make these grandiose promises but we never end up seeing results.

"We're so sorry, we'll try much harder this year, we PROMISE!"

It's a nice letter. I wish they succeed in fixing long standing issues and delivering better player experience. I believe it when I see it.

And what about the failures of years before? I've read it. There's nothing particularly different aside from the pandemic. While, yes, it's awful that they had to change things up;

But this is the same language that happens when they fail to meet expectations and they continue kicking the can down the road doing little to nothing to correct the issues. What makes matters worse is that the PTS is no longer being used for actual bug reporting and fixing because the bugs that hit the first cycle of the PTS usually go live. So no, it really wasn't worth the read to a lot of us because we've literally heard it before.

There's simply no excuse for it to persist this long.

I am not playing ESO since Sept-2019 and there seems to be zero reason for returning back.

Lags, no new PVP gameplay, lack of in game guild activities i.e. guild wars, daily quests etc.

Well the Reach update crashed the party.
I say it was the most bugged update ever, at least since I came back just before homestead.
Looks like most of the issues are fixed but game is still less stable than before it.

So it makes perfectly sense to apology for that.

Apologies mean nothing when they've done nothing to stop kicking that same can down the road.

Most of the issues haven't been fixed either, that's wishful thinking. You're forgetting about your console brothers and sisters. You're forgetting that Werewolf and other skills that were affected by the eaten skillpoint bug still haven't got that point refunded and players are still logging into those characters with trepidation because they don't want to screw it up further .

They've apologized more than I can count without actually learning from their mistakes.
