Inaccessible dig site on Eyevea

Hi
When I was trying to get one piece of the Sticky Integument Leather armor on Eyevea I ended up getting this dig site.
The problem is that this part of the island does not exists... ..
This is not the first time the dig site have been on an inaccessible part. How did the devs create these dig sites?
Did they just draw an area on the map without checking if we even can access it?
I think I could abandon it and resurvey it again to get a new dig site.. but still.
