I could totally see it as a style in ESO. We have armours with Wolf's heads so one with Wild Cat's head would work too.

I'm just curious as I'm not sure faux fur even exists in TES universe.

True, and even in our universe that would usually be a trim, no? Rather than a whole skin and head draped over a character?

I’m not a fan of animal head helms and such, although I don’t think that they’re out of place in ESO. I just would ‘t have any desire to buy or grind for it.

Would probably be really difficult to make that from natural fibers. And probably not worth it in a world where killing animals (either for hunt or because they attack you) is so common.

While none of my chars would want to wear these white lion clothes (though my Khajiit just might be tempted), the pictures gave me an idea... I absolutely need an Imperial signifer or aquilifer costume now.

And no, the wolf-headed Midyear Mayhem gown thingie isn't what I'm looking for... nor are the Orsinium costumes. I mean closer to the real thing, with short skirt and all.

Well, if some one profession is hunter (mostly to get food) - that hunter will most likely also make armour, weapon (and perhaps other things too) from an animal he / she hunted.

If we have a hunter somewhere in Skyrim region - he will most likely hunt for some local fauna (in that case wolfs or bears). In Black Marsh an Argonian hunter will most likely hunt some kind of lizard or reptile - as that is local fauna. Just look how Dead Water style armour looks like :

It is made from reptilian skins, scales, claws, talons, bones etc. Basically from a "local" fauna.

Jokes aside, this one has little confidence in ZOS designing a weightier coat/costume without making it look very bulky and awkward on the alts. Thinking of the Breton costume (as one Reddit comment “low budget, chubby cosplay”) or Nocturnal costume (shiny rubbish bag)..... it will cling to the alts in all the wrong ways....
