Microsoft and ZOS and Cyrodiil

Anyone catch any articles or interviews on how or if Microsoft is going to help ZOS with the client performance in Cyrodiil? Also, I never heard back from the performance push that was last broadcasted back in May of 2020, so any news on that would be great to.

Thanks in advance.

Microsoft doesn't own ZOS yet, and won't for a while. So don't expect anything concrete, one way or the other, anytime soon.

When the buyout was announced, it was stated that Microsoft would not be making any sweeping changes. That Zeni would continue doing what they do.

A better investment would be ESO 2 with a decent engine. ESO is so damaged from years of bad code stacked on its unrepairable at this point.

That’s extremely unlikely, not after the investment the player base has right now in the game. That’d create too much bad press

I don’t expect major changes for a couple years but maybe 3-4 years down the road we can see changes in development direction.

I can see Microsoft wanting to invest in an mmo that could be serious competition against WoW. That kind of consistent income could be very profitable.

Activision said the same thing and I'm sure EA has also fed that line to every developer they ever acquired as well, so forgive me if I remain highly skeptical that that will be the case for very long once the keys to the door are finally handed over.
