Failed to join group - Anyone else?

My SO and I are unable to join each other's groups. Every time we try we get "Failed to join group" / "That person is busy".

We've restarted the client, disbanded the existing group, etc, and nothing seems to work. This is on PC-NA.

I was able to group with someone on PC NA just about half an hour ago, so no problem here.

You two don't have social bans, do you? Or are you already in another group?

Edit: Sorry, I see you said you disbanded the other group, so forget the second question.

I've experienced this, but it's usually when one or both of us are also fast traveling

No social bans, we can use spatial just fine, but hours later and on different characters we still can't group. It's never happened to us before. Super strange, especially if nobody else is experiencing it.

Did you two (or one of you) change your account's ID? Or your character"s ID? That can also cause issues.
If so, do a support.

Yeahh we at ps4 get kicked from server for spamming when joining a group, but it's not a bug, it's a feature. It's great when you are put back on queue for cyro for another 30 mins.

No, nothing like that--we were grouped together and then I swapped characters and he tried to invite me back to group. From there, we couldn't invite any character on our accounts for a good 5+ hours before it just randomly worked. We had no social restrictions for gchat/tells/spatial/etc so I don't think it was a social ban. Just a super weird and disruptive bug I've never experienced before I guess.
