A Few Furnishing Frustrations

Not sure whether this goes under the Housing Forum, the Crown Store Forum or even Bug Reports - moderators feel free to move it as necessary.

I have been spending a lot of time furnishing crafting and mundus-stone areas recently and some things I cannot get my head around.
Such as:
  • There seems to be clockwork-style workstations in the crown store for everything except a jewellery crafting station and an outfit station. There is a clockwork dye station but no outfit station. Both clockwork workstations exist in-game if you go to the "Hall of Refined Technologies" in the Brass Fortress. There is not even an ordinary outfit station in the crown store.
  • I was disappointed there was no bundle containing a full set of Mundus Stones at a discount. Buying all of them individually was very expensive.
  • Also on Mundus Stones (sort of) I want to mark each Mundus Stone with which group it belongs to (Thief, Warrior or Mage). For this I can use Culanda Stones (lemon yellow, Thief) and Varla Stones (pale blue, Mage) from the crown store but there is no equivalent red/orange stones (Warrior). I am taking the colours from the Constellations GUI. In-game the only red stones I can find are Crimson Shards of Moonshadow and they are rare, expensive and do not really match the others.
  • I have started collecting "set" workstations and I want to arrange them in a language-neutral way. The conventional way is to arrange them in alphabetical order but this arrangement is different depending on the language in use (English, French, German etc). I am not going to have a separate collection for each language! I could arrange them according to which zone they come from but a crafting writ (for instance) does not tell you which zone to look in. Has anyone any suggestions?
I am sure to think of more but that is all for now.

Have you considered the Remnant of False Tower Furnishing?

    https://eso.mmo-fashion.com/remnant-of-the-false-tower/

It's a Solid Red Crystal and even has Ayleid Origins like the other 2 you plan on using!

I know the colovian projection crystals aren't orange but purple is at least different to the others.

I was in a Guild where they had all crafting stations sorted by 1. Basegame or DLC-Zone, and 2. each category by Healer, Tank, DD and othrr Hybrid Set. It was so good and easy to find the sets.
Main char is a Strong Nord Man, Thief, Vampire, Healer, Mastercrafter. PC-EU since 2016.

For the craft stations I have in my personal home, I have them arranged by primary, with the except of the sets from Cyrodiil and IC which I just lumped together separately. I have a midyear mayhem banner over this section

So Julianos, Magnus, Seducer, etc together because those are caster sets, and have the mages guild banner over this section

Hundings, Night Mother's, New Moon etc together because those are stamina sets and a fighters guild banner of this.

The banners are just for aesthetic sake because I know which are which, but I like to think they're helpful whenever anyone visits.

Many thanks for the good replies, much food for thought. I will try to answer as best I can.

I will look into both of these. I will probably use one for each of the warrior stones and the other for the serpent.

They LOOK different even though they have the same functionality - I will place the outfit station and the dye station together to make one double-length workstation.

Categorising by Healer, Tank or DD sounds interesting but I suspect there may be a lot of crossover sets.

Categorising sets by whether they give you Health, Magicka or Stamina also sounds interesting.
The Mundus Stones are arranged this way:
    • The warrior stones give you health/weapon damage/resistance.
    • The thief stones give you stamina/penetration/critical.
    • The mage stones give you magicka/spell damage/healing.
However the factions I would associate with each are:
    • Warrior - The Fighters' Guild and the Undaunted.
    • Thief - The Thieves' Guild and the Dark Brotherhood.
    • Mage - The Mages' Guild and the Psijic Order.
In summary - Much to think about.

What about the Hlaalu Salt Lamp, Enchanted. One lamp that does Green, Blue or Red. They would all look the same and be the correct color.

Could you go by faction/zone then by order of when they appeared in the game?

Start with the faction your main character belongs to and do the zones in order of levels back before Tamrial One. Then the Caldwells's Silver and finally gold for the base stations.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

This was my first thought. I'm glad I scrolled down to see someone had suggested it. Love these lamps!

I did not know about this lamp! The moment I can get 100 writ vouchers together again I will buy the "Praxis" from Faustina Curio (Rolis Hlaalu's assistant). If it is bright enough then my problem is solved. I can use the "unlit" state for the Serpent Stone as it is not in any of the other groups.

    Set workstation order
For anyone who is unsure whether this is just much-ado-about-nothing there are about 50 craftable sets at the moment and four different stations for each set (blacksmith, woodworker, clothier and jewellery crafter). If you have been in a room with 50 identical rows of workstations in some order you do not understand you will get this discussion.

As I see it there are three major divisions of zones:
    • The DLC zones (arranged by order of release date)
    • The neutral zones - Coldharbour, Craglorn, Cyrodiil, Earth Forge and Eyevea.
    • The five "alliance tiered zones":
      • Auridon/Glenumbra/Stonefalls
      • Grahtwood/Stormhaven/Deshaan
      • Greenshade/Rivenspire/Shadowfen
      • Malabal Tor/Alik'r Desert/Eastmarch
      • Reaper's March/Bangkorai/The Rift
Each zone in a tier has the same three set-specific workshops (They also have the same Mundus Stones).

When a visitor comes looking for a set station what will they know about the set?
    • If they are doing a master writ they will only know the name of the set in their user-interface language (English, French, German or whatever). These people do not care about the set bonuses and they are usually in a hurry.
    • If they are crafting for somebody else they may only know a name.
    • If they are coming from a "ESO best overpowered build" web page they will also know whether they are a Tank, Healer or Damage Dealer (this roughly approximates to whether this is a Health, Magicka or Stamina bonus set).
    • If they are looking for a better set than they have currently equipped then they will not even know a name. The only way I can think of to be helpful is to arrange sets in themes:
      • Tank
      • Stamina Damage Dealer
      • Magicka Damage Dealer
      • Stamina Healer
      • Magicka Healer
Then if you consider "PvE or PvP?" or "For which class (Sorcerer, Nightblade, Warden etc.) ?" then my head hurts considering the number of sets in more than one category. It is also very subjective.
One thing that all of these cases have in common is that the visitor will not necessarily know which zone a set is from unless they have looked it up online. This is the thing that makes me reluctant to order sets by zone.

The only thing I can think of is to have some kind of text index in-game in-house. You could then have multiple indices for different purposes and languages. I doubt whether this is even possible except with a mod which all visitors would need :-(

I still do not have an answer to what order I should put the sets in as I get them. It is probably just as well I am struggling to get enough writ vouchers to get more than a few sets so far.

For anyone who wondered how the Hlaalu Salt Lamps turned out I have a picture of my "Mundus Stone Island":
    ewBoCgp.jpg
The lights work best in twilight (on Arteum there is no night or weather).
I tried using colour-coded carpets but that did not look right so I left it plain.
Constructing the island was rather time-consuming but I am satisfied by how it looks now.

I will try this but see below.

Having seen the reveal of the new Update 29 champion point system I feel I have wasted a lot of time and effort arranging the Mundus Stones :-(

People new to ESO after Update 29 goes live will not understand any of the colour-coding for the star signs. Grouping the stones into Warrior-Thief-Mage(+Serpent) will not make any sense to them unless they are lore experts.

How to arrange them after Update 29? The only way I can see is alphabetically and this will of course vary according to a player's user interface language (English/French/German etc.).

Am I the only person who thinks the new champion point system effectively REPLACES Mundus Stones?

Edit: Replace skill point with champion point
