Why have the Christmas/Black Friday sales SO COMPLETELY SUCKED this 2020 year?

I know that a lot of people are saying that they can't wait to set the end of 2020 and that 2020 has been the worst year ever because of COVID.

Not me. For me, 2020 has been the WORST YEAR EVER because ESO have given us no good Christmas nor Black Friday sales.

What have we got for this Christmas sale? A small discount on Crowns and a sale on the Greymoor expac, which everyone already has. Where are the sales on DLCs (like Murkmire) or account services, such as race changes and character name changes? ZOS are doing nothing to reward their loyal customer base, who already own Greymoor, as there is virtually nothing in this Christmas sale for us.

Where is the holiday spirit, ZOS? I am so disappointed in you.

Don't worry once the Microsoft purchase of ZOS goes through next year we should see them being more generous as they have the money backing of Microsoft rather then them having to make money to stay a float.... I hope anyway!

I also hope the MS purchase means they will move the servers to Azure, that would be much better for us Aussie players!

I'm pretty sure the sale prices on Crowns are the same as they are every year at this time. Just how much of a discount do you demand that ZOS give us?

The discount on Crowns is the same as it has been for some time (I have heard that the max discount was once 50% off, but that was before I started playing.

While I do agree that the Black Friday sale offerings have gotten progressively worse, I’ve been happy with the offerings available during New Life festival, specifically Sereyne and the statue of Meridia. Of course I’d be happy to see some regular items discounted too, but as has been said, it is unreasonable to expect such during a Crown sale.

I am baffled that no notable homes were made available during the Black Friday sale and hope some (Tel Galen!) return during upcoming events! Limited Time sales I totally understand, but Never-for-Sales make absolutely no sense to me!

Black Friday and Christmas discounts are based on gift buying. ESO Crown purchases are probably way more focused on personal purchases, with some gift buying. I'm not sure if they see the same size of a peak in sales around the holidays that retail companies do. In fact, people might be spending so much money on gifts and other discounted things that they have less money for ESO. December discounts in ESO would be more to capitalize on holiday spirit and compete with all the other things people spend money on in December

Or maybe a business major wants to weigh in and be our armchair consumer habits analyst?

I was sitting pretty on a stack of Crowns all year, but was holding back from spending them until after all the DLCs had been released, so I didn't spend any of them on a Crowns-only house until much later in the year, when I bought the house down in the south-eastern corner of Rivenspire. I actually wish I'd bought the new house in Wrothgar that was briefly available earlier this year, but it didn't even register on my radar since I was too busy being deliberately not tempted by any houses for sale in the Crown Store until after all the DLCs had come out. I already had a house in Rivenspire, but don't have anything in Wrothgar, so I really screwed myself over on that one.

Black Friday bundle has always been a little lackluster no real change this year. Crowns sale is the same it's been for the last few years. At one time you could get 50% off crowns but 40% is the best you could get for a while now.

If memory serves me correct after they stopped the 50% sale, they tried to reduce it to 25% max off but the forums and I guess sales bulked hard at it, so the next sale was 40% at best and has stayed there for a while now.

I bought the game and a year sub when they were doing 50% off so that actually got me into the game. At full price I would never buy those crowns.

I do hope that the MS purchase means they can get more people on their teams. For now focus on performance improvements but I hope to see some things on my wishlist addressed. Fingers Crossed.

As for Sales I got the Greymoor collectors edition digital upgrade for like $16. That works for me

zos has been gouging prices on everything to squeeze every penny possible for stock price. Higher the stock the more they got from microsoft, so its a wait and see to find out if microsoft is more generous

Agree Covid-19 has been bad at estimate of 1.73 million deaths but far from the worse year ever.

It's still a lot worse than disappointing crown store sales. It's baffling that someone makes a direct comparison between them and picks the later as the worst thing that ever happened in the history of humanity.

Indeed. The good bargain times of Crown rebates are long over.
If you want to buy Crowns, buy ESO Plus - this still is a good bargain.
Everything else is not worth it anymore.
