Glowing orbs are fun but also annoying

I love gear sets with glowing orbs, be it green, red, or blue - clearly ebon armory is superior though. Especially during xmas and when mixing up two kinds in the same build, lol xmas trees.

At the same time they are quite annoying, always floating around your char, it's a pain during riding bc they take up the entire screen anf give me a headache.

Can't decide if they're worth it or not, they're stylish but sometimes I just want to take them off to rest my eyes. What does everyone think?

I think they look cool, but only when they're not on my character. Be nice if they only showed up in combat tbh.

I think that permanent armor effects like orbs should be able to be toggled off. There is absolutely no reason they MUST be present and we should have this as an option in customizing our character’s appearance. Plus, if you could toggle them on and off, OP could wear their orbs only when they wished to. :)

You must have your camera zoomed way in if they take up the whole screen. XD

I like them but do wish I could turn them off sometimes.
I use the sanctuary set so I get green glowing orbs. I'm trying to take a nice screenshot - go in 1st person - peekaboo orb - dammit
I do take my boots or something off to disable them temporarily but sometimes I forget to put them back on

Kinda true, but at the same time I'd like to see more set effects on armor/weapons. Existing ones looks cool but there are so few of them. Simple effects when drawing weapons like Advancing Yokeda and Infallible do or Alkosh shadow glow

I think they're awful. They look like a very dated asset, inconveniently large and opaque, that just sort of blob around your toon without a particular sense of direction. I like the ambient light effect but the orbs themselves need to be reworked imo. I think tiny swirling sparkles would be better.

I'm not a fan either...I like when my ebon bugs out and they don't show. This only happens once in a while but its nice.

I personally like them just the way they are. I have one toon with Worm's Rainment, and I color-coded the outfit to match :-)

Glowing effects are nice, but something more subtle would have been better. Sparkles or flares around our chars among more sets would have been better.

I would like to toggle off the ones on my character. I don't mind seeing them on other characters but on my own they sometimes give me motion sickness.

Yeah, I generally like them but often feel dizzy, they're extremely bouncy when you're sprinting or riding... I often take off one part of the set to give my eyes a break.

They take up very little of my screen. I'd feel nauseous if I was that zoomed in.

Back in the days I've given up on the idea of wearing the Slimecraw because I couldn't stand the irritating constant red flashing. I would definitely love the option to turn off set visuals. As for the orbs, people in my guild are always asked to remove one piece of the set when creating the guild group screenshots in order to not mess up the shot.

Also give me the option to mute the specific furniture pieces in my house!

    They’re dumb. Cartoonish.

Glow at the armor’s margins if you must but all the pets, mounts, armor and effects that are infused with those cheap glow sticks...it’s like playing in goofball land. IMO of course

Take one piece off while not in a dungeon or combat where you would actually need the 5th bonus, if it bothers you that much. You can also just use another tanking set.

or ask if they can make seeing our own effects optional. Doesn't hurt you one bit if I can't see my own orbs and it saves me from removing and then having to don them again just to keep from getting dizzy.

I like them, but honestly I'm not sure why they are there. There are many more sets that give group bonuses, so why are Ebon / Selene's / Worm's Raiment the only ones with glowy effects?

Most sets actually have their own effect.

These are the oldest sets with visual effects in the game. I think they just didn't think it through, but prefer not to change it now. Big, bright floating orbs in the three primary colors might have sounded like a great idea at the time, but I prefer the more subtle visual cues added to later sets, or no cues at all. I think the orbs are way too visually dominant and become annoying very quickly, especially out of combat.

I have both red and green orbs active for my outfit right now, trying to make my character look like a Christmas tree, but it's just a joke, not really a useful combination of sets, and certainly not an aesthetic choice I would make outside of this season.

As others have basically said, I'd be annoyed by at least a thousand other things if I were that zoomed in or in 1st person. Completely unplayable to me, so yeah I can see why you'd be unhappy.

I'm glad it's only you being annoyed by your own set. Reading the title I thought "here it is", because I've been worried other players might be annoyed by my Ebon. The last thing I'd want to be is a hypocrite, because I don't think there's another person out there who hates flappies as much as me. I hate them so much that if I've had a few pops I might follow them around a zone shooting them for an hour or so.

Someone didn't like the way I worded it previously so here it goes a better-redacted version:

the only thing about the orbs that bothers me is the fact that the healing orbs are green. they should be yellowish/clear/iridescent, similar to psijic order 'elemental weapon' ability orbs, but the same size as the set orbs. there are also stam orbs which are green, which makes sense. i know you can look at the char's armour and tell if they're stam orbs or healing orbs, but i'd prefer a different colour altogether.

i would never toggle them off, as i like them, but if enough players want a toggle ability, then so be it

Hircine’s Veneer and Sanctuary are green, Ebon Armory is red and Worm's Raiment is blue.

Too bad we can't have them all at same time -and- they overlap each other making other colours

I just don't like how they merge with each other. Like if you're wearing Hircine's and Ebon they stack together.

I meant permanent effects. I know that lots of sets have a visual when they proc.

By healing, do you mean the health orbs for Ebon? Because those are red, and I'm not aware of any other glowy ball set other than the 3 - Ebon, red health, Hircine's, green stam, Worm's, blue magicka
