Can't Run or Ride Fast After Hiding to Listen to Conversation in Bangkorai

I have had this happen on many characters.
Do the main quest at the start of Bangkorai. HIde behind the rock to listen to the Captain. You can no longer ride fast or sprint until you log out and back in.
Something makes it ignore the stick press to do that (PS4).
