Après moi, le déluge -- and Oblivion

This is not a criticism to ZoS. No, really. I just wonder why, after a terrible pandemic year and several "Mad Max" DLCs -- imho the perfect symbolism for a chaotic year -- the next ESO project will send us all directly to Oblivion.

Its ok, its a game and prolly many kids love play ESO in such dark, Daedric, kinda scatological regions.

But I wish we have for ESO 2021 a more pacific, adventurous and (why not?) beautiful stories. We already have so much suffering, unemployment, [Snip].

I wish ZoS could give us for the next year a project of hope, light. Away from darkness.

Well...

The ending of the Markarth chapter didn't lift your spirit?

The Elder Scrolls universe is a dangerous place even if landscapes are pretty and we have a comic relief here and there. And those games were always about fighting some big evil, so I guess the lightest thing that can happen to us in terms of plot is a happy ending (like in Markarth, right). But in terms of delivery ESO is borderline Disney, they even started singing!

Ew. TES has one of the least "scatological" fantasy universes there are.
And that part about kids... you think that if someone wants a lighter story/setting, it makes them more mature or what? Or that liking dark settings is childish? Sure, fans of Souls games wholeheartedly agree with you. /s

Edit to add: most of ESO stories are already adventurous, many of them are beautiful (like one of Summerset, I'd say, even if it was totally heartbreaking). But I'd like to see an example of a "pacific" story worth of a whole season.

I made my peace with rehashing old content.
I just wish large battles were that, already.
Fighting against 7 enemies in total in what should be preventing world extinction event got old during these 6+ years.

Also, last chapter where I liked the story was Elsweyr.
I wont be buying new one for story but for extras, like new class/weapon skill line/guild or similar.
    Awake, but at what cost

Yeah I'm sure more peaceful content would go over swimmingly in a game where about 95% of the available gameplay is based around acts of violence.

TES4, Oblivion, was one of the most beautiful games ever. Especially in the region in the West Weald / Great Forest around Skingrad, which we hopefully get to visit.
Alandrol Sul: He's making another Numidium?!?
Vivec: Worse, buddy. They're buying it.
