Hi, did anyone tried 1h+shield setup with templar to heal PvE content like trials and vet dungeons? If so, is this viable?

Well, if you want to be a pure healer and wear 1h/shield just for the looks, you'll be noticable weaker than a "standart" healer. But if you know what you are doing, you should still be able to keep your group alive.

If you play a heal/tank hybrid, it can be quite nice, as this allows the group to have an additional dd compared to a more traditional group composition.

Also keep in mind, that it can be risky to run unconventional setups in random groups. Chances are, that you instantly get kicked, if you enter a vet dlc dungeon with a random group, if you are flagged as healer and wearing 1h/shield.

This is why ESO needs a new weapon skill line which will reffers to some healing skills, like clerics in some other MMO are, 1h + some off-hand etc..

I will look more into such build now then, I think too that it can be viable but need to dig more.

You could do 4-person, though I'd expect a lot of time on your Restoration Staff bar.

You might try a healery-tank instead of a tanky-healer though.

Yes, but only in werewolv form.

That doesn't make any sense, not a single werewolf skill is healer focussed and it removes all your skills from your bar. The closest sub optimal role you could do with werewolf instead of dps is tank by using the tormentor set, but thats it.

The answer to this question depends on both your skill and how capable the rest of the group is. I know a player who has healed on a templar since the game launched and has never leveled up the rStaff for that character. He has healed AA back in 2014 and vAA since that instance has been around. Granted, there was another healer in the group and we were not pushing score, but we had no issues.

Some of us did use S&B with rStaff to heal the final arena in vDSA for score runs. We used to tank the adds until we started pushing the boss through all the phases. Now we tank the boss while the actual tank brings the adds away from the group ut W S&B is not needed. We heal through his damage with Healing Springs.

I'm doing it on my templar healer. My girl can tank vet non dlc dungeons and does great job as both support and healer overall. Only reason why I started to use sword&board is to use heroic slash for minor heroism. I'm noticable gaing more ulti and using more war horns than when using dauble resto. I mostly on my sword& and shield bar because it is where my support skills are like caltrap, time stop and vigor....etc. when i know there is going ro be some cluster **** and lots of incoming dqmage, I switch to my main bar resto staff for agrresive healing.

That's interesting. Actually more war horns could be more useful than more healing skills so group is buffed more often. Noted!

Hmm... if you intend to use 1h + Shield or create a stamina healer, you may want to try Warden class.
