Shoulder Armor Hide Option (In Outfit System)

Can we please have an option to hide shoulder armor in the outfit system? I generally already use the most unobtrusive options (Mercenary Style for the win); but even that causes issues. It just sucks having so many cool looking styles ruined by shoulder armor.

If we can hide helmets; why can't we hide shoulder armor? Feels like it's probably a similar mechanic no?

Hide shoulder armor option has oft been brought up and requested and with consistently few or no objections. It certainly seems simple enough to implement. It would certainly be nice to hear from ZoS about this. Either a target time frame to implement or some sort of explanation as to why they don't intend to implement it.

In the meantime, I find 3 shoulders to be pretty unobtrusive, depending on the rest of your outfit: Mercenary medium, Honor Guard light and Assassin's League medium.

I agree, I'd love this.

I do the same thing of choosing the smallest or most unobtrusive shoulders, sometimes even picking ones which clip into the armour because at least they don't stick out.

I'd love to be able to hide them instead.

Yes, hide shoulders could be so simple as an set with no visible model.
Medium Orc female belts are hidden on pretty much all gear, yes its an model but its small and will clip.

We've been begging for shoulder and tasset hiding for... however many years ESO has been live, probably? At this point, I've given up on the request. It's either not a priority at all, or there is some technical reason that prevents it from happening.

...But the developers are welcome to prove me wrong. (Please?)

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom has acknowledged our requests for a hide shoulder option and said they were interested in offering this in the future.

I wear body markings and it sucks that most of the shoulders cover them on your upper arms. The closest i've gotten to "no shoulders" is with Ancient Elf light and High Elf light 1 and 2 which are very minimal and kind of like a scarf/bib, and Imperial light 1 and 2, which are kinda thin and float just above the top of your shoulders so you can actually see your upper arm.

Shoulders are ugly and floaty in this game. We should be able to turn them off.

Hey it worked for Guild Wars 2. That game does let you hide shoulders (and gloves) but players kept asking for a way to hide shoes as well. Aparently one of the developers wanted it too but the people who make the UI kept rejecting the suggestion, so one of the people who make armour took pity on him and created invisible boots. They made it into the game as a rare drop and are now one of the most sought-after items in the game.

There is (was?) a dev build that included 'hide slot' on all areas, which for some reason never made it live, despite our begging. Much like a lot of unreleased things...

But +1 for hideable slots. I know a lot of people are iffy about hideable chest/legs, but let's face it - if the introduction of the Nordic Bather's Towel hasn't made every single character walk around nearly naked, a 'hide legs' option won't either. I'd love to hide shoulders especially, but waist and chest are also up there to make barbarians that can show off their tats. Hey, we get so many body markings in crown crates, at least give us a way to show them off.

Hiding shoulder armor should have been an option when hiding head piece was implemented.

Heck, in WOW you can hide any piece of armor, I think except pants.

I suggested a way to monetise loadouts for console but that hasn't happened yet.

One shoulder I haven't seen mentioned is Akaviri light. It doesn't work well with some chests, but with others its perfect - shows up low on the upper arm, is very dyeable, and doesn't clip. But when it DOES clip, it's really ugly.

The other shoulders I use a lot are Fang Lair light and Sapiarch light. They're.... pretty - and not really obtrusive in most applications.
