Does this also mean that 2021 is in fact going the year of performance and not 2020? Because I'd love that.

Considering that we didn't get the performance increase they were talking about, you have to be correct in your supposition.

Let me correct you. Anybody can type a wrong number. But in a company this big somebody has to recheck the number. Because nobody did it now reflects badly on everybody.

I'd care if it was a typo in an in-game item  but it would still just be a human error, soon to be corrected

Story time. When I was 15 I flunked my first test. It was a math test in high school. I made a mistake in the first line of the problem by copying a wrong number. All the principles I've used to solve the equation were correct. However, the solution was wrong and I received 0 points for that problem and I didn't get enough points on other problems to pass the exam. I tried pleading with the teacher, but she wouldn't budge. She confirmed my approach was 100% correct but since the second line was wrong, consequentially so was the third, fourth etc. So 0 points because of a "typo".

I've learned from the experience and several others that followed and have since become more careful and accurate regarding these things. At work, when I am working on a document, I always present it to my coworker for what we call an "idiot check" where we review each others documents and pick up any glaring mistakes/problems. Then it goes to my boss, and once he is happy (he never is on the first try) it's ready to go out. But I always reread it carefully before I send it out, and yes, often I still find mistakes to correct. If the time allows and if it is something many people will see, I put it away and I recheck it after I sleep on it for a few days. The result is that we rarely, if ever publish anything that has mistakes in it. And definitely never when it has to do with dates.

It's called being professional. And it's what we should expect from a company that has literally millions of paying customers.

Oh come on, this is a very common reoccurring problem in basically any job which involves writing. I've been mixing up 2020 and 2021 since at least November, when I started prepping documents for next year's projects and I'm fully expecting it to continue until about February. Everyone does it.

Yes someone should probably have noticed and corrected it. But unless you're suggesting ESO players are so completely stupid they could actually believe the announcement for next year's chapter is going to be released in the past it's an utterly trivial mistake which is barely worth commenting on.

Looking at recent patches that were fixing some bugs (but not really) and intruding new bugs, or saying they have done something (like skill point refunds) but they did not, maybe this is exactly how it was coded ? Who cares if it is 0 or 1... XD :D

It kind of tips a hat as to why the game is so buggy on releases. I don't know what else to say about it other than that.

Just for those of us wondering if perhaps time travel was involved?

Obviously it was a typo. We understand that.
