Chairs and benches still unsittable after 6.2.8

Hello,

I wanted to report a bug that was annoying me for quite a while now, and I doubt I'm the only one in this situation. To summarize, I was decorating one of my residences, Domus Phrasticus. I was putting chairs and benches in and out of the house, but I noticed something relatively unpleasant shortly after. There was no problem sitting on the benches. But for some reasons, it wasn't the same story for chairs. Yet, there was the green glow around them indicating that they were sittable. Despite it, the option allowing me to sit on chairs was not displayed. I never had this bug before the Markarth DLC came out. The same phenomenon also happened to me in Mathiisen Manor with some High Elf chairs. I've heard that this bug was fixed for Stadia and Mac players with the incremental patch, but it seems like it wasn't the case for Windows players. If it can help, I can show you a video showing the bug in detail.

At the same time, I also made a list of the chairs and benches that were affected by this bug, and also marked where these chairs were located:

- Breton Armchair, Padded (Domus Phrasticus)
- Breton Chair, Padded (Domus Phrasticus)
- Breton Chair, Windowed (Domus Phrasticus)
- Breton Chair, Slatted (Domus Phrasticus)
- Redguard Bench, Padded (Domus Phrasticus)
- Redguard Sofa, Desert Flame (Domus Phrasticus)
- High Elf Chair, Regal Winged (Manoir de Mathiisen)
- Ayleid Bench, Carved (Manoir de Mathiisen)
- Khajiit Couch, Padded (Manoir de Mathiisen)

I really hope this bug will be fixed in a near future, cause glitches like these tend to be immersion killers at times, and it somewhat prevents me (and probably other RP/creative players) from fully enjoying this aspect of the game in particular. But hey, as people say, the devil is in the details. If it's not enough, I would like to add that this problem only occured in houses where the max furniture amount for no ESO Plus owners has been exceeded. In my case, it's Mathiisen Manor (599 furnitures out of 300) and Domus Phrasticus (243 furnitures out of 200).

Did anyone else notice the same bug recently? This game really has such a great potential, and in spite of its imperfection, there are still people that hope for it to become even better than it already is. I'm one of them.

Best regards,

Q-Jei

It's not just houses but other game environment too.

When in the past I did the psijic quest line with multiple characters, at the last part when you in the white gold tower throne room you could sat down on the throne while the npcs where talking after you finished. Yesterday I did it on my new character and I couldn't sit down there anymore, the throne chair was just not usable.

I noticed that in towns also (e.g. Solitude). But it's random for me - sometimes it works, sometimes it's not.

    Yep, ZOS said in 6.2.7:
"Fixed an issue that prevented you from sitting in chairs when playing on the Mac or Stadia game clients."

But that's not true for PC. @ZOS_GinaBruno We need to sit too, our backs are hurting!!

And when they are sittable, some weird things happen. Chairs no longer 'bound' you to them. As soon as you see 'seat' command, you can do it... even on a thin air.

    Like this.

That's what I noticed too. In fact, it's either a bug related too the hitbox of sittable furnitures or a bug concerning the ability to sit itself. Unfortunately, this dysfunctionality persists on my end. It also seems to depend on the instance you're loading since I can sit on some of my chairs when I start the game in Mathiisen Manor but can't do it again when I go out of the house and come back.

    Another little "change" I've noticed..

    Amaya Lake - Store House
My character now always faces away from the table when sitting down.

    St Delin Penthouse
My character now always faces the wall when sitting down (and he hasn't been a naughty boy).

I've tried sitting down from a wide variety of locations, and moving the furniture around a bit, but my characters always end up sitting down facing the wrong way. This didn't happen before the patch.

Yeah, I feel you. This happened to me when I played in early November this year. I tried to sit on my khajiit couch in Mathiisen Manor but I always faced my dividers even with a rotation of 180 degrees. There’s also this strange difference between before and after the arrival of the Markarth update. The player can no longer open the main menu and be sat at the same time. I don’t know if any of us has noticed it yet.

Sure would be nice if ZOS acknowledged this was even an issue...

Hello again! I wanted to let you know that the chairs I couldn't sit on are finally sittable again. I've heard that it wasn't the case for some players in the Hall of the Lunar Champion (https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/557566/bug-hall-of-the-lunar-champion-seating-furniture-not-working#latest), but I can confirm that the fix has proved to be functional in Mathiisen Manor and Domus Phrasticus!

Thank you for your attention ZOS, keep it up!

This is bad news indeed! It sounds like there is a problem with houses that include portals or means of teleportation. Hopefully, if you could share a video or screenshots of this bug in particular, that might be a little more accurate. I also had a chair I couldn't sit on in Rosy Lion Inn Room and it now works properly again, so that seems a lot like the bug you've encountered is persisting because of instance matter. @ZOS_GinaBruno, have you received similar reports since the last patch application?

Most of the places I was having problems with chairs being bugged are now fixed. However, I am still having trouble with "Redoran Chair, Sanded" in the Saint Delyn's apartment house in Vivec City. When I initially place the chairs from my pack, they are sittable. But when I use "Precision Edit" on them to get them just right, they become unsittable. Even if they're in the middle of the room with nothing that could possibly be in the way, showing green in the editor et al. Frustrating. Please fix.

Stools and benches have always done that for me, which is why I've stopped using them in my houses entirely.
