I think it's time our eso forums gets some love, a new look
Include some colourful graphics for each forums section
Live it up visually and it might inspire some posters to be a bit more positive

Thats my idea anyway...id also like a couple of new sections added like maybe if there was a special section for comp, aints then the rest of the firums would stay more positibve idk just playing around with ideas
Ty for sharing yours 😙😙😙😙

I really like the way the forums are right now! Easy and simple.

Every website overhaul nowadays leaves websites absolutely destroyed. Webdesigners seem to think big and flashy beats simple and functional. There are quite a few sites which I don't use anymore because of this. Even the current elderscrollsonline website has this issue. Big and flashy on top(which hardly anyone uses), but only three news items with HUGE icons. Not to mention the bar on top, and minor text in the upper left for the actual important functionality like logging into your account, or going to the forum. And ofcourse spots for streams, which players who want to see those would go look up themselves.

To keep it about the forums: forums without pagenumbers, and/or missing good functionality are just ugh! Someone posted something, lets automatically update the page and make it shift, so it no longer shows what you were reading.

I think the forum is fine as is, although the mobile version could do with including the Dev Tracker link. I certainly don't want flashy colours. Some additional tidying up would certainly be beneficial, such as stricter control over technical/performance and PvP threads being put in their appropriate sub-forums rather than everything being dumped here in General Discussion.

I think they should add new avatars, which they haven't done since Morrowind's release 3 years ago.
The forum feels basically abandoned since then.

I mean, that's something we would've done on our old phpBB boards in a few hours.
Alandrol Sul: He's making another Numidium?!?
Vivec: Worse, buddy. They're buying it.

Yes to keeping the forum simple and perhaps making it more friendly to phones and tablets.

    Yes to new avatars.

    A little wish for a dark-mode?

The Mobile forum needs a link to the Dev Tracker and a better reporting interface.

My complaints about reporting posts on the forums:
On Mobile (I'm on google Chrome) its very hard to report posts that violate the forum rules. First off, it doesn't seem to allow me to scroll. At all. So if there's any sort of comment thread going on, I can barely see the box where I type my reasoning for the report.
Second, once I've typed my reason, I can't access the [Report] button. At all. That's right - I can't scroll down to the button I need in order to report the post.

If I want to report something for real on mobile, I have to swap to the desktop version on my phone just so I can see the [Report] button to send in my report. This is a royal pain to do. Its why I almost never report a forum post unless its an egregious slur.

And yes, I've pointed this out to forum moderators. One of them even said they'd pass on the feedback.

    No improvements yet.

So, ZOS and forum moderators, if you'd like us to help you out by reporting comments that break the forum rules, how about you talk to Vanilla Forums or whoever's in charge of your mobile formatting and make it easier for us to report posts on mobile? Because right now, its impossible without swapping to desktop mode.

Maybe when the new expansion is revealed the background graphic will change.

I remember it used to be snowing in the background during dark heart of skyrim.

It's been said but we need NEW avatars to choose from. It cant be that difficult to add a few here and there. Animated ones would be pretty sweet too! Also, maybe a dark-mode...

Graphically busy and very colorful forums are horrible to deal with. They load slowly, they're never visually "pretty". This one is perfect: it's easy to look at, it loads quickly, and it doesn't use animated crap and ads.

I wouldn't mind new avvies, or a "dark" version - though I could do that myself with Stylish.

This. The whole thing of throwing more visuals/etc into forums/web-pages/game UI's/console UI's, is a plague. I don't want an Instagram/Facebook-like feed of 'content' in my PSwhatever interface, I just want to get to the game I'm playing and run it. I want my forum to be clear, easy to navigate, and readable. And load quickly. Etc.

Visually it's fine, and most of the functionality is fine. There's only one change that matters - a way to distinguish between actual ZOS input and moderation. Saves us all time.

    Removed Quote

I like looking at the various other sections of the forum but most of the traffic is in "General ESO Discussion" so a Complaints section would hide them from most users.. Sorry about the misunderstanding.

    Greetings,

We have recently removed some non-constructive comments as well as some unnecessary back and forth from this thread. This is a friendly reminder that comments need to adhere to our Community Rules to avoid thread derailment.

    Thank you for your understanding.

I'd like to see a dot to the left of the topic icon to indicate that we had responded in the topic, and a different colored dot to indicate a topic we had been reading in with no response.

I use Waterfox as a browser, and I don't know if the browser itself is somehow incompatible with ESO's forum software, but I've gotten tired of clicking on a multipage thread that I know I hadn't gotten much further than half way through the first page, and having the forum software drop me at the last response on the last page of the thread. I don't have that issue on other forums I read.

Forum is fine as it is. It’d be good, though, if there is more regular communications from ZOS on the forums instead of focusing their replies and communications mainly on Twitter.

Honestly, I just want to be able to subscribe and unsubscribe from threads. And a better notification screen that isn't page after page of of every comment that's come in on the thread that you have to count back to to figure out which is the first new one, but a list of threads that have been updated.

I would like to see the "Insightful Agree Awesome" expanded by a general disagree option. So many posts are just simply not deserving of more than that.

A vote down or simple dislike could be potentially bad, because of the personal nature. It might lead to more trolling.

My problem with lots of times they update sites they end up doing an windows 8 and making it much less user friendly sometimes even making them useless.

Only thing I'd really like to see is the ability to use an avatar of one of your characters.. If they wont let you screen cap it and upload it to the forum maybe they could add the ability to do this at your character selection screen and capture the head of your character and save that as your forum avatar. Just a thought. ;)

I have dark reader (mode) on all websites..it looks fine here on ESO forums.
There are probably too many sub sections on ESO Forums, that's all I can say. Bit of a maze.

You should have been here in '14-'16.
We has more button options, but too many posters got their feelings hurt, so in an effort to promote the ever popular social engineering policies that most woke businesses are engaged in.
So - 'disagree' was axed in favor of writing a dissertation highlighting all the reasons you disagreed, or just keeping silent..
