No Pets allowed - Either unsummon them automatically or simply not allow them to follow

I know this is a small QOL improvement and while I'm not personally affected by it much, it would be something to add to the list of improvements. What if there were areas (like inside banks, taverns, crafting halls, etc) there was an automatic "Desummon" that prevented pets, sort of like how you dismount off of your horse when you go certain places.

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't bother me to re-summon things afterwards.

I wish outposts had an anti daedric ward that insta killed any pet summon that walks through it.

I was trapped in the alinor bank once because a Warden's Bear summon was standing in front of the exit.

I actually cursed in frustration at the person. I did not care. I can take only so long of trying to aim crosshairs to target an exit without it doing anything because of a dumb summon mechanic before I lose my temper.

Is there any reason why combat pets might be used in that area?

Like, say, justice system guards, containers, and safeboxes? NPCs you can steal from and have them attack you? Combat quests nearby?

If so, no, you shouldn't be automatically suppressing sorc and warden combat pets in those areas. And no, you don't get to retroactively change the non-criminal nature of sorc and warden pets just because you don't like seeing them. You don't get to retroactively remove options for legitimate gameplay like that.

Better options to solve your problem:
Give sorc and warden players a better desummon toggle that's obvious.
Fix collision problems with pets for doorways and action prompts.
Let the flappy twilight land on the ground when their player isn't moving around. Let the bear lay down and sleep.
Let players toggle other pets visible or not - who wouldn't want to toggle off some pets in trials?

    More problematic than it seems.

When the game launched there was a mechanic that un-summoned pets when we went through doors. I think it had to do with going into a new instance. It would sound great for the small portion of the game's population that is troubled by pets, but it created significant issues since we go through such transitions in quests. As such we had to constantly summon our pets and in some cases, we could not because combat began too fast.

Oddly, after 6.5 years in Tamriel, spending more time in the game each day than I should, it has been rarely that someone's pet interfered with my day. Even when they have it is often rectified with a simple step to the left or the right and I am on my way to another zone (wayshrine) or am crafting whatever I needed to craft.

Varanis, in their post above mine, brings up a significant reason why the pets should not be auto-unsummoned.

That stupid bear gets in the way of so many things! Maybe it’s just bad luck but it’s gotten worse for me lately where I can’t turn in a writ or have difficulty interacting with the stable master. I think, surely this player is just here to turn in writs or do their daily riding leveling and will be gone in a moment but no, it’s always someone who has decided to hang out there.

Dont ask ZOS to add complicated stuff like that.

They may end up de-summoning your character instead of your pet. :D
