This seems to be a relatively recent bug I have noticed.

Unless you were already blocking, it seems now it is impossible to block soul blast. I see the start of the animation, and with code's combat alerts - both of which worked just fine before the Reach patch - at that point it is how too late - your character seems stunned and unable to do any action at all, which makes this ability impossible to block or roll/dodge.

This is super annoying if for no other reason that it does a huge amount of damage. Has anyone else noticed this?

After the patch, I've seen the healer dying more often in this fight, wonder if this is it.

You should also be able to dodge roll it. He does it like every 15 or 20 seconds it feels like.

as I remember this was also years ago when I was playing

once you see just start animation of "casting" this it is already hitting you so if you wasn't blocking nonstop or just in time luckily it always hitted you without option to react for defense it, if not for tank and someone else had to low hp, not full or not enough resists because of low cp...it was always 1shot if you didn't have perm block or luck with timing block for this

I remember how when thieves guild was newest dung..for me the best option to be sure for nodeath on this was lunar bastion from these times giving shield to teammates which was enough additional "health" to absorb this attack damage and stay alive when they was full health

"should be" able to block and dodge it, yes.

But the reality is that from the start of his casting animation you can't do a thing - nothing at all - until the blast lands. if you weren't blocking already, you take the full blast.
