Any crafters on PS4 still creating Magnus’ Gift head/shoulder set?

Hi

I’m trying to complete my build (5x Julianos/5x Mother’s Sorrow) with the head and shoulder of Magnus’ Gift.

I spent an hour in each of its crafting zones (Rivenspire, Greenshade, Shadowfen) asking for someone to craft these 2 for me in purple. I got no response.

Is this set “passé” now, or do characters still use it? And since no one answered my calls, I have no idea how much each piece should cost?

Is Magnus’ Gift dead?

Are those three really "the crafting zones"? On PC/NA I'd have named several others ahead of them.

Further, why do you care what set your two pieces of Head/Shoulder are from? And you're likely to care even less if you ever get an arena weapon (REGULAR Maelstrom Arena isn't difficult) or monster set (veteran Crypt of Hearts or Vaults of Madness aren't too hard in a PUG) or mythic item.

I think you'll find OP means that those three regions where they asked are where the set crafting station is located. That's why they said "its" crafting zones and not "the" crafting zones.

    That makes sense.

Like many people, I actually do my set crafting at a guild house. If somebody wants me to craft a set for them, they have a much better chance if they ask in Vivec City than in the set's native zone.

According to alcasthq they are the 3 crafting zones.

I play a CP463 PvE solo pet magsorc wearing Julianos and MS (all purple), so most of the monster sets are unobtainable. The ones I happen to loot have less stats than my MS hat and shoulders. They’re never on sale at the guild vendors either (at least during the last 100 times I looked).

I’ve done MA twice, but I only get blue items, and I’m not using them as armor and weapons. I only have master enchanting skills, so I can’t upgrade the dropped armor and weapons any higher.

It’s funny, but it’s listed in alcasthq solo magsorc builds: https://alcasthq.com/eso-solo-magicka-sorcerer-build-pve/

I guess with all the dlc’s that came out through the years Magnus’ Gift got pushed to the wayside for better gear. My problem is that I’ll never get that gear 🙂

    Thank you for the offer!

Magus is one of the best available mag sustain sets in the game. Works great with mechanical acuity for an off meta build.

Monster sets are absolutely available to you at that level since you're high enough level to do dungeons on vet, and you're a solo pet magsorc so you definitely have the survivability and heals, especially in a group with three other meat shields. ;) Even if you hate doing group content, the pay off is well worth it for the gear and the monster sets you pick up in dungeons.

What I would suggest doing is checking out what monster sets drop in the dungeons for the pledges each day and queuing for the vet version of the one you want (start with the base game dungeons because they're the easier ones). If you don't do the other two pledges on vet, at least do them on normal - they're fast to do to be honest, and you don't have to worry that much about mechanics outside of a few dlc ones - so you get keys as the reward for the pledge, because you'll want those to spend at the lucky dip at the undaunted vendor for the shoulders for the set.

If you do vet pledges you get two keys instead of one and it's REAL easy to burn through keys trying to get a set of shoulders to drop in the weight you want it.

Monster gear doesn't go on sale in vendors because it's bound. The place it DOES go on sale is at the Golden vendor in Cyrodiil on the weekend (all you literally have to do is pop into the home base she's at, buy from her and leave, you don't have to do any PvP while in there). She has two pieces of a monster set - shoulders or head - in all three weights so you can get exactly what you want. BUT you might be waiting a while for what you want to come around. You can check out previous weeks to see what she's had here to get an idea what I mean: http://benevolentbowd.ca/games/esotu/esotu-chronicle-of-alliance-point-vendor-items/

First monster sets are bind up pickup so you'll never find one for sale in a guild trader. You'll have to run vet dungeouns to get them or do some PvP and use AP to buy them from the Golden vendor in Cyrodiil on the weekends. And you really should be working on your crafting skills. Even if you don't know the traits to craft desired sets yet you should decon stuff until you get each of them leveled to 50 so you can get the passisves which will allow you to process farmed materials for mats and upgrade gear you buy from vendors.

If you need a two piece and can't get a monster set this would be a better option than Magnus:

    https://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Armor+of+the+Trainee+Set

400 more magic and 1454 health from a set that is easily farmed in any beginner zone.

Didn’t think about the trainee set, since I’m not one 🙂. I hope it comes in purple; goes with my complexion😂

But seriously, thanks for giving me another great option for a monster set.

Your welcome. Most drops will be blue but you will get purple occasionally. And you could always reset your CP while farming to get the treasure hunter passive that would makes all the treasure chest drops purple. Also keep in mind that set comes in all 3 weights so make sure you get the right one for you setup.

Just to follow up on my original question, that week I had the funds and was lucky that Golden Vendor had Maw of the Infernal’s heavy helm for sale, and highly extremely lucky to get its Arm Cops in medium from the Undaunted store. I golded both of them.

So thanks again to everyone that responded to my thread, and to the folks that offered to make Magnus’s Gift for me. I very appreciate your offer of help.

Just do the group finder for a dungeon. Illambris and slimecraw are both good and come from really easy dungeons.

If you go into cyrodiil, there's also the golden vendor that sells random monster heads and shoulders each week for 100k gold. Super cheap and easy to get.

    Hi Brrrofski

You read my mind. I went to the Golden vendor and bought Maw of the Infernal’s helm (heavy) and this week Iceheart Arm Cops (medium). I was really lucky and got the Maw of the Infernal’s Arm Cops in medium from the Undaunted store. I also upgraded the Maw set to legendary.

Since I’m not sure I can clear Wayrest Sewers II (I only do solo), I’ll have to try it again when it comes up in a pledge. Wayrest Sewers I is easy for me. I’m CP550 magsorc DPS PvE-only build no-pet heavy attack. Same with Ilambris. I’d need to buy the helm at Golden. When that comes up? Who knows? Please tell me if Golden is on a fixed set rotation.

    Thanks for your comments.

Slimecraw's not worth the effort anymore since they nerfed major and minor buffs into the ground.

@OmenRIP Iceheart is a really nice set, the damage isn't much but the shield's saved me in tight spots before! As per my previous comment, you're absolutely a fine level to do vet dungeons through the group finder and Direfrost on vet is pretty straightforward, you can queue specifically for the vet version in the dungeon finder and get in there and go after it. Hopefully you'll get the right weight the first time! Otherwise I've found if you let the group know what you're after at the start and before the final boss, if anyone gets something they don't want they're usually happy to pass it off to anyone looking. :)

(My only tip is on vet it's really important to break free from the final boss's life steal if she targets you, because she can heal back to 100% with it.)

Why limit yourself this way? Pretty sure you could just get a group and farm what you need in a few short runs. Shame you're not on PC, I'd happily call on 2 friends to get you those monster sets within minutes.

    Hi renne!

I didn’t know that about Slimecraw. I found a list on the web of all the monster sets and looked it over to see what might be beneficial to me. My choices are Slimecraw, Iceheart, Ilambris, Skoria, and Malubeth (I alteady have the shoulders from Undaunted). Because of your comments, I’ll put Slimecraw down at the bottom of the list.

I really want Iceheart. Yesterday I went to Darkreach Caverns II (solo) and got to the second to the last boss (Netch). I thought I had a chance but there’s too many constant adds to keep up my Hardened Ward shield constantly. I think Iceheart would help me here. Same for the overland bosses Rageclaw and Dragon Mound in Eastmarch. Again, I can’t keep up Hardened Ward enough to mitigate the adds damage. The Warewolf Den in Glenumbra I can solo since there’s a lot of room to maneuver and they just follow me around while I cast Mystic Orb until they’re dead. I have time there to keep up HW during my rotation.

I’ve played MMO’s for many years (I was in the first group of players to play Sony’s Everquest) and been in guilds and constantly grouped. But today, with my time constraints, I only solo PvE content. I realize that there’s armor and weapons I’ll never have, but I’ll have to live with that. Thank heavens that ZOS added the Golden Vendor 👏🏻. At least I can obtain some special equipment. Same for Maelstrom with the staffs dropping on normal. I can have a little taste of the items you group/guild vets can have.

    Thank you for your comments!

No worries. :) Yeah, they nerfed Slimecraw from 8% own to 5%, you'd probably get more out of running two pieces of mismatched monster set that have a 1 piece crit bonus than the head and shoulders Slimecraw together these days. It's disappointing.

Honestly, I know you have time constraints, but if you're running a veteran dungeon just for the monster set since you only need the one piece it really would be much quicker in a group than trying to run it solo, especially on a day where it's the pledge.

But I do understand not wanting to group. It's just a shame they made it so that you can't solo Direfrost anymore otherwise you might have been able to give it a go. Unfortunately Malubeth you won't be able to get solo either from the actual dungeon because she has a mechanic that you need either a second player to break ou out of or rez you when you die.

Hopefully they'll come up on the Golden soon enough for you!
