How do I not get bored of ESO all the time?

every 3 minutes I quickly log off eso. here are my problems

1. Pressure to chose stam or magika only
2. speen run peer pressure
3. leveling to 50 pressures
4. I want to try out dw and lighting staff hybrid sorc, I feel community tells me not to
5. I get lost everytime I log in
6. forced into meta
7. pressure to get into trails and vet dungs

I only like eso for the art visuals and bit of quests. I dont feel eso is for me but I play in EU, maybe EU community is why.

how do I get rid of the problems and make eso fun for me?

Looking at the amount of times you use "pressure" it sounds like an MMO is not for you. However you can play on your own easily by just not doing group dungeons.

Just ignore all of them. ESO is so easy that even stamina character with destruction staff will handle all standard content.
You will not handle vet stuff but... no pressure. If You want use some stamina and Magicka hybrid - do it, believe me I have prepared special build for pve content for my stamblade and it's called vampire build. It's rubbish but I use all "funny" abilities and all story quests and overland contest are really easy.

Best advice I can give you is stop slamming your head against the proverbial brick wall and your headache will eventually stop.

Wow Classic has every one of those points you're complaining about:

1. You don't even have a choice. It's dictated to you by the class you play.
2. Dungeons are gogogogogogo
3. You power level to 60 so you can run endgame
4. You'd better be running the meta if you want to raid
5. Not sure what that even means

7. That's the entire goal of WoW Classic. Raids.

There is no pressure??? How can someone pressure you in any way? For me sounds like an excuse and blameshifting for you not knowing what to do.

If having to choose mag or stam is a problem try making a tank. Most basic tanking involves staying alive and keeping the boss in leash in place so dps can dps and complain how useless you are. It can be fun and is different from all to dps fetishism.

You need to play it like it's a solo game, do what you want and wear what you like. I played like this at first, just did questing. No group activities or anything. I think you will have fun then also i would not run any dlc quests or anything at first, but do the main quest and guild quests and your starting zone quests. It feels more logical that way.

It's simple. Just play the game the way YOU want too. Just like WoW, there is nothing wrong with having alts and trying different things. It seems the real problem is perhaps ESO. There are a lot of mmo's out there, and not all of them are going to be your thing.
Maybe just being bored means you need to move on, and come back when you get a itch to do so.

Find friends. A nice social guild is a good start. Stay out of "endgame progression" for vet trials unless you enjoy that kind of challenge (and pressure), and don't bother with vet DLC dungeon achievements like "no death hard mode speedruns" unless you do it with good friends who can laugh it off if you fail. Just have fun, and play the game the way you want. Fights in quests are super easy and can be won by pressing random buttons, normal dungeons are a breeze for the most part, and the game has a lot of things you can do solo if you like.

A jabs based magic templar can make a DW + lightning staff build work just fine, although a DW + inferno staff build might be slightly better if you don't need to use staff heavy attacks to regain magika.

Just make sure you're DW'ing two swords and have the "twin blade and blunt" passive.
Ignore the stamina based DW skills and the other DW passives tho, you're using DW for the damage boost to your jabs.
What you lose from weaker light attacks, you regain in stronger jabs.
Well, more or less. Few people would notice the overall difference.

Put magic based templar skills and melee ranged skills on the front (DW) bar.
Destro skills and ranged magic skills go on the back (staff) bar.

Result is a melee mag build that feels kinda like a ranged mag build on backbar, and kinda like a melee stam build on front bar.

Ignore it all. You can ignore all guilds, dungeons and end game, turn off chat and just wander around and quest. As I came from Skyrim that's how I played until I'd finished the main questline.

If that is your view of the game then perhaps you shouldn't play the game. IMO, there are so many fun things to do in this game that I keep coming back to do those things, but if you don't find the game fun, then you should just move on and play something else.

That said, when you do play, you can play any way you want. You don't have to run meta, and you can run a dw/lightning staff hybrid sorc if you want. You just need to understand that it is not going to be a competitive end-game build, so your going to have a hard time doing vet content/trials with a character like that.

When you say the "community" do you mean actual players IN GAME, or the "community" as in forums? If it is the prior, all I can say is just ignore them or play like I do, single player. If it's the later, do what I have done and stopped visiting the forums because I always play as we "shouldn't" be playing.

The pressure you describe is self-generated. You can level at your own leisure, and nowadays with all the extra xp sources available, it doesn't take long, even without grinding. If you are a new player you shouldn't level fast anyway. Then about builds/playstyle: you can complete the vast majority of the content on anything: 1-bar, hybrid, RP build, etc. Experienced players have done tough vet content even on meme builds. The 'meta' you describe are only recommendations for the very end-game optimized groups, it's not relevant to other things, especially not to new players. If you want to be a DW/lightning sorc, you can be, and enjoying almost everything the game offers, with it. But the problem with having so many build info available nowadays, is that people gettting into mind trips, thinking that this is only the way, without reading the context, and what the build is recommended for, and without learning to crawl before walking so to speak in terms of game experience.

Avoid groups and guilds, and stay off the forums. It sounds like you want to play the game like an offline RPG rather than a MMO, which in the case of ESO (and pretty well every other MMORPG as it happens) is just fine, but you seem to feel pressured to play the game the way you feel others are wanting you to. That's nonsense. It's your game, and it's your time, spend both as you wish to.

I think you just need a guild with people who have the same play style as you.

There's tons of casual guilds where that peer pressure isnt there.

If the relatively minor, non-permanent choice between stamina and magicka is causing you such distress, then yes, maybe the game isn't for you.

As far as pressures, gaming isn't a job (for most) nor an obligation, so you shouldn't submit yourself to being pressured to do anything, by anyone, including yourself.

From the sounds of it, you are trying to take on too much at once and are becoming overwhelmed, which is understandable. But there is no need to rush.

Consider this: I've been playing since Beta and I have never set foot into a trial. I don't run meta builds yet I've completed the dungeon achievements for most dungeons. I finished Caldwell's Gold for the time 2 months ago. And after playing my Dragonknight for years, I've yet to level him to 50. And I'm not any worse off for it because I've used my playtime doing the things that I enjoy.

If you aren't enjoying what you are doing, don't do it. That includes trials, speedruns, meta builds, etc. and if ultimately you feel it's ESO as a whole, then find something else to play that you do enjoy.

Easy...stop letting other people make decisions for you. It's a VIDEO GAME, not a job, not real life. Most people here (and in game) are complete and total strangers to you. What they think is of zero value once you walk away from the game so why are you letting them dictate how you play?

You have to understand, you are not FORCED to do anything in the game, you CHOOSE it, 100% of the time.

Don't like the meta? Don't PLAY the meta...

I will honestly never understand people complaining about this kind of thing. It's literally...100%....up to you.

By the way my first char was dunmer nightblade and i most certainly did not choose stam or mag, i put points into both and morphed skills into whatever sounded the coolest to me. And i had dw/restostaff. Only years later i made my first char that was devoted into certain role, which was mag healer. You can play whatever you want really, no one stops you

I play destiny 2, division 2, warframe and elder scrolls online so I rarely log in to a game if I don't feel it.

Start with what you feel like the most doing, or what you can get into fastest and easiest. No one pressures you to learn veteran dungeon mechanics, it is only in your head. I also feel burned out and close the game after a few daily check ups - for a different reason though. In that case you should try shelving the game, so it will feel fresh when you come back.

I have never had any of the issues you mentioned; and definitely not #6. Many years into this game, and I never ever follow meta or BIS or whatever the beep folks are trying to justify the need to be more hardore video game warriors. Ha ha. To each their own, though. Play the game how you see it and enjoy it. It's a video game! It is not a chore or a job. It doesn't pay your bills. It is just a game for entertainment. It is not suppose to pressure you, stress you or make anyone feel any less relevant.

What keeps me with this game for so long is surely not group contents, endgames, dungeons, trials or whatever. I mostly enjoy creating and leveling up new characters and their skills. I must have leveled upwards to 50-60 and more different characters thus far. Well, the problem is the mount training. I hate how long those are. Yeah, it blows when you have to delete characters with full mount training. Sure, I had gotten bored a few times over, but deleting and creating new characters and taking them all around greater Tamriel to explore, unlocking the areas and picking up skyshards and mage books are what have kept me entertained through the years. Plus, I enjoy terrorizing world bosses sololy and public dungeons and such.

Furthermore, I have never felt to be pressured or forced to do anything in this game. If that is the case, it is not fun or entertainment to me, and I would have surely moved on to something else. Although, these crash after crash after crashes are quite frustrating and have been quite the challenge to my patience and sanity. Still, when the game is working right, it is what helps me to get through the day or evening.

Sure, in group contents, you should play by the rules and be a team player; by all means. You should help the team out and find what is the path of least resistance. Surely, it should benefit all in the team for the greater good. However, if you're being pressured or feel forced to do anything in this game; nahh, that isn't right. You should stop and rethink and reassess. If it isn't fun or entertaining, then something or someone(s) is doing you wrong.

Perhaps just stick to the content that you do find enjoyable. I like house decorating and gathering.... mainly because they are non-pressure activities. I understand the speed-run pressure, the sense of urgency to get to 50, the desire to experiment but feel like it's best to stick to certain builds etc. There's a lot I don't like about this game... but there's a fair few things I do like. Focus on the stuff you do like, or find something else. It's not like ESO is the only MMO.

Pressure sounds like you rely on others too much. Maybe make a character strictly for solo so you can play or build it how you want. If your not playing an MMO like you want you will not enjoy it after a while. I hear this a lot in this game and people will quit the game. Have a character for group content where you can follow the meta of others and the other for you.

So the problem is that, you aren't getting bored with the game, but rather feel pressured to abide to player norms/expectations in order to be acceptable. Let me tell you, ESO can be played as a fully SOLO game while completely IGNORING meta.

1. Pressure to chose stam or magika only -> not really, you can go for a hybrid build or health tank. In fact it's more optimal for solo that you are a jack of all trades.

2. speen run peer pressure -> ask others to slow down/wait, or try to solo easy group content at your own pace

3. leveling to 50 pressures -> I'd recommend sticking to a main, eventually you'll get to lvl 50 (just use the exp scrolls)

4. I want to try out dw and lighting staff hybrid sorc, I feel community tells me not to -> Interesting hybrid build, I'd definitely try it. Keep in mind that with recent changes, your weapons use the highest offensive source. I'm running a Greatsword/Resto staff Templar, using magicka as my exclusive resource. This change has made dw/2h builds for magicka viable again. In fact physical weapons give you higher weapon/spell dmg and nice passives. Needless to say, don't let others dictate how you play.

5. I get lost everytime I log in -> there's just so much to do in this game! this is great, isn't it? just try sticking to a goal without getting side-tracked

6. forced into meta -> not really, it's your choice to do what others told you to do, or follow what feels better for you.

7. pressure to get into trails and vet dungs -> not really, save trials for later. At high CP, normal tries are often easy, can even be played with fewer players. Vet base game dungeons are also not that bad at high CP. Stay away from vet DLC dungeons though, they're a waste of time imo.

All in all, emphasis on meta gameplay is kinda neurotic. This game allows you to play a variety of builds so make the most of it!

As other have said, don't cave to the pressure. I burned out on vet dungeons way before I got into serious trials. I found it drove me into a very stale type of play. Every toon I had seemed to be wearing julianos / hundings / mother's sorrow / briarheart etc, buffing with major / sorcery brutality, and then dropping wall of elements / endless hail and maybe a class AOE, before weaving their spammable. Half of them didn't even slot their class defining abilities.

I've found I have way more fun in pvp - the classes actually feel very different and there's lots to learn - and spending the rest of my time tooling around overland / normals with builds I enjoy. Those certainyl arn't BIS, but there's a lot of fun. My nightblade wears nightmother, jailbreaker and wild hunt, and sneaks everywhere. My DK wears grothdar and elfbane, uses talons as his main aoe and spams flame breath. My temp does overwhelming surge and thunderbug and just goes nuts. I have a strict "no WOE" rule on all of them

Of course, if I'm running group stuff - pledges or a trial etc - Ill slot "sensible" gear and use a standard rotation. But, while Im one of the people who would love for a harder overland mode to be put in, one of the positives about how easy it is that you really can play how you want. hell, you could do most overland content wearing a cabbage and duel wielding two sticks of celery if you wanted.
