I would like current dungeons and trials to work well.

I prefer trials over dungeons. More things to overcome, more risk of things going wrong, it's generally quite fun in a guild.

The new DLC are very challenging and you can get into them much eaiser than 12 man trials.
I like mechanics that require group play and after removing almost all requirement for team work from the old dungeons, they have finally brought group work back in the new dungeons.

Dungeons are easier to group for, so I like the fact that I can make impromptu dungeon groups within a few minutes.

Getting 12 people on at the same time and ready to port into a trial is about as fun as herding cats, but once you get the group together and run them it is pretty fun.

PVP, but I'll vote dungeons since I can solo a few and there is a group finder in place for them. Most of the time I can't be bothered to ask in chat to group up for Trials, and I have no desire for any of the sets that drop in them.

The more people you add the silly it gets. Most of the dps wear the same sets and really add nothing to the group.

Trials should have been 6 people content. That would really make things interesting and less daunting.

    2 tanks

Currently its dungeons as most of the trial are glitched beyond hope. Hel Ra, Sunspire, and Cloudrest are DC messes so vet runs can be unpredictable.

Personally I run the dlc dungeons only for collectibles, motifs and on rare occasions loot. Then I forget they ever existed.

    Mini-trials to be exact.

Cloudrest and Asylum have the most exciting boss fights without any of the time wasting.

Trials but I do love dungeons too. Trials really being out the true colors of players and your role feels more significant. It takes everyone (mostly; depending on how powerful your group is). I really appreciate a clear even if we've done it a bajillion times.

I like trials but only with relaxed groups. I can't get into many of them tho because I don't have time, while I can just pug dungeons anytime.

I really like DLC dungeons in this game.

Don't play trials, mostly because every guild demands to have a Raid notifier or smth like that. "Block this", "Dodge that", "X mechanics incoming in 3..2..1.." - thx, but I want to play the game, not interface.

I don't have it, I have done hundreds of normal trials. I was asked to get it for a vet trial and I just said hey I'm doing you a favour by being your 12th man just call out the mechanics in discord.

I basically consider that kind of stuff effectively cheating

I prefer trials. Even if they take longer to get a group going, I usually have more fun in the bigger group setting. In fact, I don't think I've ever had a bad time not completing a trial run. It feels like a learning experience instead, in fact that's the point of some progression runs or trying a new trial for the first time. On a dungeon run, it's easier to assign blame for a bad run, as well as get a group where no one knows the mechanics.

But the thing Trials seem to do way better than many dungeons is tell the story. Everyone is on the quest because it's repeatable. There's no waiting for an npc to catch up and then clicking through lines of dialogue. Ghosts will taunt you as part of the narration along the way, and scenes play out when you come to each boss room. And there's no skipping bosses, those that can be just appear at the final fight, and may even change your ending.

Console player no add ons for us so we have to learn the tells ourselves like when a boss raises a hand or stomps a foot. Or listen to the audio cues in a dungeon on when do do certain mechs. Raids have designated callers sometimes depending on boss like vSS ice dragon it’s cage healer and off tank making the calls, fire dragon it’s DPS for when to hold ultimate and off tank for add position, final boss it’s both tanks and portal team leader making the calls.

My healer without add ons knows the ice portal timing, my off tanks know where to group the adds and how to stack so we get the burn right, I lead the portal team and do call outs for the blocking and statues.

It’s clean and it’s easy. The only thing I would like though is some kind of indication on buff/debuff bars for certain skills instead of having to pair it with something else that does have a timer in the buff bar to know what is going on. Try doing some of these dynamic rotations on console. Between input lag and disorganized UI it’s very challenging.

I still like dungeons but they are fairly simple compared to trials. Trials are more involved and the mechanics are more complex.
