Why does a game?

I'm actually intrigued why a game creates such negativity.

I'm really perplexed why people feel the need to be elitist ..even when they are not.
There is a dark side to this game...

And I love it.

You seem to be new here, but there has been a lot of changes and issues that have become compounded over the years. Little things have become big things and little issues that used to not even be a factor have become completely and totally game breaking.

Like I'm starting to avoid massive battles in Cyrodiil for fear that when I approach them I'll get disconnected and have to suffer through multiple errors and hitting the log in button repeatedly before I can come back in.

This also the last update even if pretty good made it very unstable as in 10-100 times more doing some content like group dungeons and trials. that is that people are mad about.

Outside of this game is nice. We also got an new system for gear so many do far more dungeons and trials now.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

So.. are you all saying that you're negativity is all based around the state of the game?

In my experience the state of the game only brings people more together. Theres less raging at teammates in pug dungeons because peeps are too busy cursing Zos lol. I tanked vCOA2 pledge yesterday and as usual it was very low dps. Normally someone would have blamed the healer for dying or they would have raged at each other for low dps, rage quiting or kicking all that fun stuff. But now 3 of them crashed to desktop (yes that is still happening and not fixed) , some had to hard reset PC etc. So everyone was just spitting at Zos while we got the LONG dungeon done.

Elitism is relative. Someone that is elitist to one, may be a noob to another. It's about perspective. In that way, depending on how you look at the situation, you may see a lot of elitism or very little.

It is also very much of a point of view... For example I have made a innocent comment about how I think we sent the higher dmg group downstairs in vHRC. The healer started telling me how group downstairs have more debuffs (which we didn't, the only extra debuff we had was minor breach) which then (after telling him we didn't) he continued to tell me that nobody cares we didn't have debuffs and I am the only one that cares about them... (Which I didn't, why would I pug the trial if I would).

Looking back it does feel like my innocent comment of "I think the high dmg went downstairs" while waiting could have drawn backlash, because people understand things differently.

I think that stems from amount of stuff one has to learn about the game by oneself, because the game doesn't teach it. Combined with the low or non-existent feeling of reward of the game overall and the general limitations of ways of communication this game offers, you get a toxic environment, that brings out the worst of people's characters.

But i like it too. It is good practise for when i have to go back to work (i have been in homeoffice for the last 8 months) and have to deal with incompetence and harassment in the office once more. :D
