What does or doesn't proc Ring of the Pale Order?

Apparently, Ring of the Pale Order doesn't proc on:

• Pet damage, even from Blastbones.
• Set procs, even Burning from BSW.

I just tested a magcro build (single-barred BSW, single-barred Mad Tinkerer, Maw of the Infernal, destro ultimate only on need rather than on cooldown, etc.) and per Combat Metrics heals (inc. overheals) were something like 5% of DPS.

I'm a weak damage dealer, so proc damage is probably a larger fraction of the total for me than it would be for a stronger player. (This test was run through REGULAR Maelstrom Arena, followed by a few rounds with the Precursor dummy to confirm what I seemed to observe.) But still ... wow.


Some specific questions -- does Ring of the Pale Order proc on:

1. Bonus damage from Maelstrom bows or destro staves?
2. Glyph procs?
3. Damage from conditions like Burning or Poisoned?

Pale Order does not heal damage done to a damage shield. Learned that the hard way in PVP fights against people with a reliance on damage shields for survivability when I was using the health cost vampire spammable.

Edit: Also means certain boss fights like B'Korgen are going to negate the ring heavily, as well as NPCs that are shielded.

It seems the Ring does proc on a Magden's Birds and Shalks skills.

I don't think it procs on the bear, but frankly I didn't bother checking carefully.

Does it proc on each dot and lightening staff tick ?
In aoe, for each damage on each ennemy ?

From testing it seems to proc on damage done to the target but has some oddities when against shields or sources of damage you don't deal I.e. pets, poisons etc. As such, I found there to be many inconsistencies when you'd say it won't work on procs like venomous smite but it does work on sheer venom which is on a skill but doesn't work correctly against shielded targets etc.

As such, I think it is more a trial and error thing sadly.

What does and doesn't work with the ring feels poorly tested. For example, most proc sets don't work but some do - for example Unleashed Terror and Grothdarr work with the ring the last time I tested it. Maybe that has been patched now but it feels very inconsistent.

I came here to find out what doesn't as Sheer Venom isn't working. Are you sure it works?

Who knows...there is no consistency in this game in regards to what affects what.
