Yeh, i wish this was a useful skill. I was just sneaking around as a test with another nb of other race and alliance. We would detect each other at the same time, no difference at all :D

🧐 So it doesn't even work at all...

Actually, it does work in that it lets the non-Bosmer know that someone else is looking for them with the half-open eye warning before the Bosmer can know that they are there. This was confirmed in the infamous Bosmer open letter thread. But, yeah, it provides little if any benefit to the Bosmer stupid enough to take this penalty. Oh, sorry I meant to type 'bonus' but the truth accidentally slipped out.

It's a garbage passive, and it should be destroyed with extreme prejudice.
Taking stealth away from the Bosmer is like taking magic away from the Altmer, making Nords allergic to mead, or making Orcs pretty.

Bosmer: ZOS has heard concerns about the stackable powerful movement speed. Bosmers will still get a speed boost off dodge, it just wont be as high. Bosmers will get some short damage bonus as compensation. Note: Reps specifically asked about the community’s concern that bosmers are trading stealth for different buffs. We were told that ZOS saw these concerns and would work on creating more options/systems for stealth gameplay outside of race. With these additions, stealth gameplay will open up to more players, and also allow bosmers to have the nice combat buff will still having avenues to be as stealthy as before.

Yes, it was well documented to actually be detrimental to Bosmer PvPers.

The only way I'm able to use stealth on my one Bosmer NB who is my "main" antiquities hunter (meaning she's at level 10, so is the one going into dungeons etc. for leads when needed) is with 5 pieces of Darloc Brae and.... oh lordy, I can't remember what else - not in game tonight! Some other 5pc stealth set....

I never played my Bosmer as stealth before antiquities. So the ripping out of that particular heart of Bosmer abilities didn't affect me - until antiquities came along....

What I really want to do with my Bosmer girls now is what I do in Skyrim: stealth archer with WAY OP bow. *sigh*

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the "more options" was the introduction of Darloc Brae set and that's was that. Forgotten.

It’s useless and should be removed from the game. Or maybe make it part of a passive for one of the Alliance skill lines. Bosmer should not be immune to poison, not at all. That should be a trait of Argonians. The reduced fall damage is random. I won’t deny that it’s useful and I’ve taken advantage of it, but maybe it makes more sense for Khajiit if it makes sense as part of any racial passive? Maybe it would be better as a medium armor passive? Idk

I love my Bosmer but the racial passives are, on the whole, a disaster. The need to get rid of things that don’t fit lorewise and implement those that do — like DECREASED STEALTH DETECTION RADIUS!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the "more options" was the introduction of Darloc Brae set and that's was that. Forgotten.

I don't think that's the case. Anyone can reach the stealth radius cap with full medium armor passives and the two reduction sets that were in place before Darloc Brae was introduced. I think they just put it on the back burner and forgot about it after shutting down the discourse on the subject.

And new stealth systems wouldn't matter to me, as it's more about throwing away decades of Bosmer lore for a PvP only passive of questionable value. And they didn't even bother to change the quest dialogues that reflect the actual lore to match the new gimmicky lore.... so it obviously wasn't a well thought out process or considered important enough to tie up the loose ends and make everything cohesive.

Imperials are more stealthy than Bosmer today..... and I don't have to be ok with it. It's not right, and never will be.

They are famous for their inflexibility and penchant for digging their heels in when it comes to player generated change requests. The dismantling of the player rep program is proof of that. The yo-yo changes that actually happen are driven by calculating things on a spreadsheet, putting them in game (after ignoring the feedback on the test server), and then scrambling to contain the ensuing chaos. It's not at all an intuitive process, as we would like it to be, but rather a result of following the Vision script to the letter. One would think a game would become more player-friendly over time, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Why, I couldn't tell you. They have their plan, they are sticking to it, and we can take it or leave it. Unfortunately, it seems like there are more leaving it at this point.

Don't see much of an plan myself. Like how they first buffed do'ts one patch and then nerfed them below the original values the next.
Now had they reduced them to an value between the original and new this would make sense. You did an change and it was too large so you dial back.

Now the Argonian change makes zero sense, as you say some looked at an spreadsheet and found that poison resistance was X and disease resistance was Y and Y fitted better with Argonians.
Ignoring that in Elsweyr you have an quest with Argonian who poison resistance let him escape poison who knocked out the Khajiit in his group.
Yes they could just twist the numbers a bit but then it would not fit with their model for reasons.

This is the people who seriously thought of putting global cooldowns on AoE.
I think they only dropped the idea as player feedback indicated it would be an significant revenue drop because of it.
Yes its no lag but its also no players so their jobs was on the line.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

They even put an Argonian in Solitude who tells you about some poison he was eating, but he gave it to a dryskin (possibly even a now poison resistant Bosmer!) who would die from it. They haven't even told the lore/dialogue team about the changes nearly two years after the fact!

How can these folks expect to be taken seriously?

I don’t want them to rewrite the lore, just fix the racial passives! It’s just maddening! I don’t care what they were thinking about balance or diversity or whatever — please make the racial abilities lore appropriate! Argonians and especially Bosmer are just wrong. :bawling:
