Sometimes I just want an honest sniper rifle, a combat shotgun and a half of a box of grenades, but in general the game aint bad.
Been here since pre-release and still slogging.
The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.
Then they took away bosmer stealth and other non-lore friendly changes which turned it to “like”.
With the continuing poor Mac support, and the rather poor western Skyrim story line in general, it changed to “ok”.
And then with the recent announcement about Mac support in general, it’s turned negative.
I have recommended ESO to some RL friends in the past, not anymore. Right now I am more likely to recommend Comcast as a cable supplier at this point.
I am only sticking around because I really like two of my guilds where I am also an officer. And I also feel an obligation to uphold my officer responsibilities to them. But really my eyes are already looking ahead to other games (Cyberpunk) to fill the majority of my gaming time.
I'm mildly enthusiastic about the game. To be honest it isn't my first choice where MMO's are concerned but FFXIV has gone in a direction I dislike. It puts an immense amount of focus on telling a story and yet never has anything of major consequence actually happen - with the blandest, most preachy characters being forced front and centre at almost every turn.
ESO gives me a huge game world to explore and the housing system is pretty in-depth and available to everybody.
I think I'll be sticking with ESO and only leaving if either Pantheon or Blue Protocol prove to be more exciting.
I’m Not impressed with ESO. It crashes way too much.
I also feel Microsoft’s move to make the game “better for there Xbox systems” (I own both a PS4 and Xbox1 with eso on them) Is Wrong and will hurt the game. Everyone paid the same money for the game, if you want to make sales go up, improve the code and make it cross platform.

Love the TES Universe so came here after I played TES VI to death.
I love the expanded TES lore here in ESO and the voice acting ...
BUT - I have a HUGE distaste in my mouth for the developers
1) Their lack of connection to the overall community
2) Their comical ability to break multiple important things while trying to fix minor things
3) Their lack of communication on relevant topics
4) and multiple other similar veined things I just dont care enough to list.
I've only been playing ESO since Covid hit, but what I've since then and the direction it appears to be going, I am more and more feeling apathy towards the game.
If I don't feel like their will be a change in ZOS' stewardship of the community and what it wants from this game, I easily seeing myself leave ...
Not a rage-quit, but an apathy-quit.
Fix Wrothgar Relic Hunter for Pete's Sake! ... Until then ... ZOS=POS
I love the continuity between ESO and the other Elder Scrolls games. I know there has been some lorebreaking things in this game (like Wood Elf passives), but overall, on balance they keep the game, the locations, and the lore largely consistent with the other games.
I fell in love with Morrowind back when Morrowind the original game came out. For years I praised Bethesda and the game.
After some reflection though, it dawned on me that although I did enjoy Morrowind, the REAL reason I liked it was because of Jeremy Soules music. I even purchased a deluxe edition Morrowind for the PC and I was playing it on Xbox. I just wanted the music CD.
Morrowind was the only Elder Scrolls game I played. I hoped to capture some of that fun/love in ESO, but due to the game design revolving around the crown store with "solution selling", it put a bad taste in my mouth. I have a love/hate relationship with this game, I would say its close to Stockholm syndrome.
I mainly play for housing and everything I do revolves around that. If the housing in New World turns out to be better, I will probably play that game. If the Amazon LOTR has housing and its better than ESO, I will most likely play that one.
I imagine the devs work very hard and are very passionate about this game, but that passion is lost for me because of the way the game is monetized.
Playing it since beta. Ocassionaly taking a break from it. Like just logging in to grab the reward and writs. I like the game. I have to say i had my good and bad memories with it. And obviously more to come. The recent dlcs are really bad i have to say. Game is buggy. And the forum mods are *snip*
But overally im fine, even if i lost a lot of friends under the years in it.
