The New Markarth Dwarven Furnishing Plans vs Old Dwarven Plans

I have only seen a few furnishing plans from Markarth so far, but I am disappointed that there doesn’t seem to be a difference in the naming convention between the two.

There is no way to know just by looking at the name whether it is new Markarth Dwarven or old Dwarven if you aren’t already familiar with them. You have to preview the plan in the guild trader to see if it’s the old dark green stone and dark brass metal, or the light gray stone and brighter gold colored metal.

I can see where some newer players might think that the old plans are ridiculously overpriced newer Markarth plans. Some players might not even be aware of the two versions.

Does the name “Markarth” need to be added to the newer ones for clarification?

(I know the difference because I farm the old plans and know how valuable and rare they are.)

The new ones have "granite" or "polished" at the end of the name. It's not much, but there is a difference.

You can also tell by the ingredients. If it needs "Dwemer Frame", its the old school dwarf. If it needs "Arkthzand Sprocket" its new school.

That is true, both of these are different but you have to dig into the details for one and might not notice the other.

Honestly, the first Markarth plan I got was a Dwarven candlestick that was a green plan, and my first thought was “hey don’t I have all of the green Dwarven plans?”

I am glad it's this way because they probably would have decreased the likelihood of getting regular Dwarven stuff from Solitude area otherwise. Seeing more of the older dwarven stuff that was really hard to find before.

Hope they do the same with Ayelid plans next expansion

So both old Dwarven and new Markarth Dwarven drop in Markarth? I’ve only found a couple of new plans so far.

Don't think I've found any old Dwemer furniture plans in there, but 1 Dwemer motif so far.

I got a couple of both and I have seen a few in traders, so I assumed that was the case. But it could be just a coincidence, IDK. I also got a purple High elf motif in Markarth.

I have seen a Dwemer motif page as well.

I am getting lots of Solitude and Vampiric furnishing plans as I go through the story but no new Markarth plans. Very disappointing.
