Master crafting writs should wait a cycle before using motifs and crafting sets

I know that historically this has not been the case, but it would make things easier for master crafters who like to actually do their writs, to not have to hunt down a motif that goes for 100k+ because everyone wants it.

While we're on the subject, whatever ever happened to putting trial motifs in the crown store? I'd love to pay a nice 6k crowns for Sea Giants at the moment.

Not really necessary for sets though, those are available to crafters immediately (unless they are locked away behind a quest like in Southern Elsweyr, but even that doesn't take long enough to justify it).

As for motifs, you can always hold onto the writ and do it later, but I agree that it would be more pleasant if they didn't appear the moment they were patched in. I've had writs requiring motifs that weren't even available yet xD
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

Me too. And I'm not interested in paying gazoolas in gold for a motif when it's just released. I just destroy them - I'm not into holding onto them for however long it might be. I can trash them and go buy something I already know that's not prohibitively expensive.

I just wish the writ said if you knew enough to make the item. It is really a pain to look it all up on the PS4.

Yep. We on PC have it very easy compared.

I started keeping a small notebook to write down stuff in. Recently I went a little crazy with getting master writs. Got to be a pain to keep looking at collections and running to the crafting sets to see what I knew and what I didn't. Started writing down a list of the traits I still need researched which has helped a lot. I also write down what the writ calls for and check off after I've learned it or acquired. So now all I need to do is remember what styles I have and if I'm not sure it isn't a big deal to look at collections. Basically saved myself the extra steps with looking everything else up lol

I take a picture with my phone or tablet rather than write anything down. Seems quicker for me. I find it works out great when doing a lot of master writs at once before going to turn them all in.

The hardest part about taking pictures for master writs is setting everything up. First, I get a lot of master writs I plan to do in my bag inventory. Next I set up my 8-inch tablet on a stool closer to the TV zoned in so when I take the picture and view it later, I don’t have to zoom or move the photo. Just swipe to the next one.

Cycle thru each writ I have in my inventory. Take the picture. Make sure you have a nice dark background to see the writ before taking the picture. I find standing in the shade and next to a building works best for me to take picture at. Just move my character until I find the spot I like. Pull up my inventory take the picture and move the controller to the next one, take the next picture all without moving anything else.

Generally, do 70-100 mater writs at a time or all I have of clothing etc. Do those turn them all in and move to the next category like blacksmithing.

Hope this help. Pictures are much quicker then writing for me.

Be safe and have fun :)
