does bow ganking still work?

I've been trying to get alcast's bow gank build, but so far disappointed with the damage output - it might just be that I haven't fully fleshed out the build yet & gotten used to it, but I was wondering if bow ganking is still considered decent in pvp. Particularly in BGs, does it work?

sory friend, but bow does less damage than the other weapons.
been that way since beta.
every time we ask for buffs or help from the devs people complain and talk the devs out of helping us archers. all we can do is keep asking for bow damage buffs.

Don't be a bow ganker in BGs unless you want your entire team to hate you and/or leave the match soon after it begins.

Having a ganker on your team means that your team size is effectively reduced by one and on top of that you're probably going to be stealing the kills that your teammates put in the majority of the work for.

The build is probably very incomplete, bow gank is strong

Its possible. There's a build out there that is amazing at ganking but I'm not linking it because some of the pvp'ers who complain all the time will try to get it nerfed.

You can do what you want but I'm telling you the truth. As your MMR increases your teammates will get more hostile to your playstyle. There will also be fewer players that will actually be vulnerable to your ganking, which makes it counterproductive along two separate axis.

Gankers do not contribute meaningfully to the success of their groups. They don't tank damage, they don't provide healing, they don't provide group buffs, they simply swoop in to steal kills from their teammates on players that were very likely going to go down anyway.

I don't want to encourage ganking but you're much more likely to find success in open-world Cyrodiil.

They can be as hostile as they want, the ignore function is there for a reason. If they don't like it and don't want to take on the risk of having a teammate who isn't as uber elitist as they are, they're more than welcome to play premade games.

Keep in mind that Battlegrounds are for everyone, and not everybody plays competitively to achieve a high MMR rating. Nobody is going to sacrifice their playstyle just to cater to others. I can only see your argument being remotely valid if they introduced some sort of ranked system. Otherwise, a premade team is your best option.

cool, I like how this looks like it could really take out even a tankier player, but since you have to be close its a lot less cheesy. Have you used it in BGs?

This is kinda what I was worried about, thanks. I don't want to just kill steal I'm looking for something that actually works.

This is by far the best setup I use as it is versatile and gives you lots of freedom with movement.
