I want Sony to hurry up and enable HDR on my PS5. :|

Really no HDR on PS5? I'd think since it's in the PS4 client it would be working on PS5 too.

I'm playing it on PS5 and fps drops are a lot better but performance and graphics are still the same till Zos gives us a PS5 update.

Yes, and it crashes just as much as it does on PS4.

Mine has had HDR since launch day, I actually have to turn it off for ESO because it makes all the colours over saturated, same as on PS4. Other than that I’ve not noticed any improvements, it’s basically PS4 pro mode and nothing else of note

I don't know how PS5 will handle it, but Xbox Series X runs the Xbox One X enhanced version of the game. So anyone going from regular Xbox One to Xbox Series X will see major graphical improvements. Anyone going from Xbox One X to Xbox series X will mostly just see slightly better frame rates and much faster load screens. However, ESO is getting an update which will optimize it for both new consoles. So there will be even further graphical improvements once that is live for next gen console owners.

HDR sometimes makes the game worser

Yes, and it crashes just as much as it does on PS4.

BUT you get back into the game a lot quicker with those faster loading screens.

The better question is does the PS5 sound like a jet engine when you boot up a game?

Nope. My PS4 Pro couldn't handle particle effects without the fans firing up, and I remember once I looked at a giant nebula effect housing item my friend had and immediately got the blue "Your PS4 is too hot" screen because so many particles.

I got on my PS5 and looked at it all I wanted without issue haha.

Coming from PS4 pro to 5 it’s basically the same but grey screens instead of blue and more freezing
Faster load times I’m not seeing for a couple of weeks now. Big fights are better frame rate until the freeze comes of course 6/10
Oh and it’s louder than pro
Still have no stam recovery too:(

I don't think the PS5 is responsible for your stam recovery, personally.

I'm in no rush to purchase a PS5, I'll wait til next year when the bugs are worked out and more games support the new platform.

i'm hoping they also come out with a new version of the VR device by that time...

Hi. I play on Ps5 EU. I think graphic is nearly the same as Ps4 pro. But I have almost no crashes. No blue screen at all. Loadingscreens are short. Don't know, if this depends on Ps5.

Our household has PS4 Pro with an SSD and also a PS5. We often play together, so we sit in the same loading screens (e.g. when entering a dungeon.)

PS5 is pretty much on-par with PS4 Pro + SSD speed with load times. At least it is not significantly faster. You still get "unsually long" load times once in a while, and the game seems to crash as often on our PS4 Pro as with the new PS5. The light attacks and skill desyncs/lag spikes still happen too. Our internet connection is fine (100/100 Mbps, fiber-based), so Zenimax cannot blame our connections or network equipment either.

Graphics are the same, but framerate is a bit more solid 30. Some future update might change things, but I suppose that the server-side issues are a limiting factor too.

On a typical evening, we both get a couple of bluescreens (or get dropped to main menu because of "spamming" messages.)

I heard that there will be a Ps5 pro version (rumored) that will have dual graphics cards. Speculation is that it will come out in about two years.

Been on PS5 for a little more than a month now and can say it does improve the ESO experience even before the upgrade version comes out.
    1) The PS5 has inherently better HDR performance than the 4Pro so everything looks more vibrant on my OLED and the frame rates don't dip even during large fights.
    2) Loading times are greatly reduced. 9 seconds to travel from area to area and within the same area is nearly instant. Entering my fully furnished Hundings takes 21 seconds, down from 2 minutes on a 4Pro.
    3) Respawn times in Cyro are now a couple of seconds at most. No more 4 minute long loading screens as the enemy breaks into the keep and kills me on the shrine. Even spawning at a tent while a big fight is taking place is nearly instant. It could actually give one side a pretty big advantage if the majority of people on it have a PS5 and the opponents are still on PS4. I always thought the fault for long loading times during keep fights was server side but apparently it's the ancient CPU architecture in the PS4 Pro being slow with the calculations.

I do still crash at least every couple of hours though.

Was going to buy a ps5 but the way they sold was a joke...

So instead I went with a pc! I can't say how ESO runs on ps5, but on my ps4...it was literally unplayable.

I had given up and assumed it was my subpar internet connection.

ESO runs flawlessly on PC. I suggest submitting every crash and blue screen to sony. If cdpr had to refund, then the flaming pile of code ZOS has on playstation should follow suit, in my opinion.

After all of my complaining, I got one on the 5th day of Christmas.

But I'm not starting fresh, so I'll stick to PC for my ESO needs. I did pick up a copy of Skyrim, though, just so I could have something to do with the PS5 aside from admiring its towering profile.

    It's swanky.

That's a word. Swanky. Really. Look it up if you don't believe me.

Funny I've been trying to buy a 3080 gpu since September to finish my gaming PC but still no luck. However got lucky with a discord notice in early Dec for an Amazon drop for my PS5.
As for PS4 performance I wouldn't be surprised if they drop support once enough people migrate to the next gen like what happened with DCUO leaving behind PS3 about a year after PS4 came out. The inferior hardware client side really does make a difference.

Well i checked retailers multiple times for ps5, watched it as close as i could while being on the road daily and saw the stories how it always sold out in seconds thanks to bots. I wasn't gonna play that game, so got looking into a pc, and saw you couldn't get any of the new ones... I managed to find exactly what you were looking for though lol.

I honestly slightly regret it, since I've spent more time on cold war on my ps4 than anything on my pc since getting it, but I actually went the pleb route and got a prebuilt lol. 3080 gpu and 10th gen i9 cpu. Seemed like an okay deal, probably slightly overpriced but whatever.

I always did say I'd pay a lot of money for a working ESO...guess I did lol

Just wish zos would like throw me a bone with some sort of transfer of anything. RIP all my time and money on PS4

Yeah not being able to transfer is a bummer. My current PC GPU can run ESO at highest settings with 60fps at 1440P which looks much better than the PS4 version (even when playing on PS5) but I keep playing the console version because I have all the horse training done on 6 characters that are fully leveled and geared, one that is a master crafter, and a home I've spent millions of gold, thousands of crowns and many many hours decorating.
PC looks way nicer but starting over from scratch is too much so I'll just wait and hope the PS5 gets a full graphics upgrade to match the PC visuals.

Rumor is that there is a PS5/XBox X (or XStation 5X) upgrade in the pipeline.

What serious gamers wanna know is if there's gonna be a KFConsole port of ESO.

Faster load times thanks to SSD

Smoother with a lot of particle effects on screen thanks to GPU power.

But the game does NOT run at a higher frame rate.

Game still runs in BC mode. There is NO next gen update for this game on either Gen 9 console at the present time and we've had no further update on if / when there will be one.

In other words, if you're hoping for a next gen console to make this game perform 'great' you're going to be sorely disappointed.
