Dungeon Que penalty

This aspect of the game needs to be removed because when people disconnect they get penalized for it and have to wait for the timer. It also does Not help when people are so fast to boot you when you DC, there should be a 5 minute timer before you can vote someone out the group so that way it saves the person who disconnected the opportunity to get back in.

It is indeed stupid because dungeon finder is bugged, and many times make u unable to even join the run, which means on top of the long queue you get 15 minutes penalty right away. I think penalty should be reduced foe the time over 15 minutes you were waiting in queue, up to 0 penalty if you have been queued for half an hour.

About the defense from kicks... Neh mate, maybe, maybe 1 minute protection. But 5 is way too long.

I have been in a dungeon after using finder - when other people had the bug where they couldn’t port to a player or the dungeon directly before - but last night was the first time *I* was the one who couldn’t get in.

Usually in this situation - we chat back and forth, and then offer to kick the person who can’t port - so they don’t incur a huge penalty for leaving. Seems like a nice community thing to do.

Anyway - last night when I couldn’t get in - I texted; tried both port methods; then asked for a kick when that failed. The people in the dungeon then said they were on the last boss for the pledge; competed it without the DD they re-queued for; and texted me that they were purposefully making me wait. Lame.

The system needs to know when it’s an abuser or a glitch. Ugh.

The penalty serves a valid purpose as more people abandoned GFs faster when the group was not so great. ]

The real issue noted in the OP is that their random group is kicking them faster than OP is getting back into the game after a DC which means the issue is not the penalty itself.

It drives home the point I have made time and time again, life is much better running with guildies than with GF strangers. The dungeon runs are not only better on average but they are less likely to kick you quickly if you DC.

You get the penalty even if kicked.

Yep, they changed it like a year and a half ago or so.

Without the penalty people would start picking dungeons. I'm talking about tanks and healers. Its already bad, tanks often leave as soon as they port in. If they dont like the dungeon they got or they think someone is too low cp or whatever, they would just leave and requeue until they got easy one. At least with the penalty most tanks will give it a go and leave later if group is bad. But it totally sucks to wait in queue for 30+ min as dps and then tank leaves without even trying.

What tanks? in random normal unless I have a taunt slotted and queue as tank I usually end up being with the boss anyway... That's my experience from leveling stamden.

The problem is that the finder ofen refuses <50 players to join normal dungeons as it believe its vet dungeons.
it also refuses <300 cp players in normal dlc as this is an the requirement for vet dlc.

People are not kicking low level players from normal dungeons, the finder refuses them from enter and give them an punishment on top. ZoS as confirmed this bug.
The reason for the cooldown is to stop people from farming random dungeon + easy vet pledge as an combo or just looking for an good group, but currently it does more bad than good because of the bug.

Only ran into this once in an normal dlc.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I was talking about vet and mostly dlc. Sorry should have mentioned.

But even in your case, what if you get MHK or frostvault? Unless you're high cp and know what you're doing, you gonna get rekt and then quit or get kicked. So without any penalty you would just bale after loading screen. That's what I'm talking about. We need some penalty.

It hasn't changed. You only keep the 15 minute penalty timer if you aren't in the instance when you get kicked. If you get kicked from the dungeon while you're in it, the timer goes away.

That is odd because we used to get a penalty even when kicked and I thought zos removed that. If someone is kicked from the group they should not receive a penalty. Only if someone initiates them leaving the group.

But the penalty should not be removed entirely.

Penalty should remain when kicked or fake roles get really arrogant.

Yup - hence the reason I was saying that it is a nice community thing to do, if any group members can’t port in. It’s like 1 minute vs 10.

That is a good point but it also punishes the innocent that get kicked by elitists.

Yes! This already happens, when you say you need the quest for the dungeon they'll either vote kick you or they will drop group.
