Stalking Blastbones doesn't proc Overwhelming Surge

(5 items) When you deal damage with a Class ability, you surround yourself with a torrent that deals 1114 Shock Damage to enemies within 8 meters of you every 1 second for 6 seconds. 15% of the damage you deal this way is restored to you as Magicka. This effect can occur every 7 seconds.

AFAIK Blastbones satisfies the conditions: it's a class ability and it deals damage, yet the set fails to activate after Blastbones inflicts damage.
If I had to guess why it doesn't proc: for the same reason Blastbones' damage is not counted towards necromancers total inflicted damage in battlegrounds, something ZOS have been notified of since the class introduction basically...

I think it's because it's technically classified as a pet or separate entity while it's up. It's the same with the archer/mage. So, technically, YOU aren't doing the damage, the pet is, if that makes any sense.

I did not know this Blastbones' damage is not counted towards necromancers total inflicted damage in battlegrounds. Wondered why my damage looked low with a Necro in BG's
