Controller on PC UI bug?

Just started happening yesterday with new Xbox series X controller.
Screen flickers, FPS drops and my controller no longer works within the UI. Works fine otherwise- can fire off abilities and whatnot, even can interact to get mount upgrade. But inventory and bank? Nope.
Kbm still works though.
Very mysterious. I mean, the new controller would appear to be the culprit but why the FPS would drop and controller functionality becomes, um, quirky is beyond my ken atm.
