Procs proccing procs - Poisoned Status effect

Hey,

procs are not supposed to proc procs. However, with procs causing poison damage this happens:

Let's look at Syvarra's Scales:
5 items: When you deal damage, you cause a burst of lamia poison that deals 1000 Poison Damage in a 5 meter radius and an additional 10380 Poison Damage over 6 seconds to all enemies hit. This effect can occur once every 7 seconds.

So we get Poison Damage over 6 seconds. This Poison Damage from Syvarra isn't able to proc another proc. However, it seems to me it can proc the Poisoned status effect. The poison status effect itself is a DOT, and as it is not a proc, it can CRIT. You get Syvarra, you get its proc, you get the poisoned status effect... When the poison status effect is running after the Syvarra effect ended its cooldown, it can proc Syvarra again, without getting a new hit from the enemy (as he is hitting with the poison status effect). Now poison status effect can crit, so it can even cause Venomous Smite to proc: (5 items) Dealing Critical Damage inflicts Hunter's Venom on your enemy for 10 seconds, dealing 2241 Poison Damage to your target and enemies within 6 meters of them every 1 second. This effect can occur once every 15 seconds.

So effectly you can use a proc to cause a status effect, which itself can proc procs again...

Is my understanding of this mechanic correct and what do you think of it?

Syvarra´s Scale will proc from any source of damage. Sets like Sellastrix, Crimson, Sheer Venom, Venomous Smite etc, will all proc Syvarra. It´s pretty ironic that ZOS reworks blood altar to not proc sets like SPC and Symphony of Blades with the reason that "procs shouldn´t proc other procs", but allows Syvarra and other overperforming sets to rampage freely in PvP and proc other procsets.......

Poisoned, Burning, Diseased and all other status effects are, and should, in my opinion, be exceptions of the "Procs can't proc procs" rule.
However, it is very questionable if these status effects should trigger another proc sets. I remember testing infinite Grothdarr&Elf Bane&Charged Fire Staff, it was just enough to stand next to the dummy without doing anything. Grothdarr procced Burning and Burning procced Grothdarr. However, that was caused by wrong definition in Grothdarr and back then the chance to proc Burning was much higher for this item.

These wrong definitions were also in Maw of the Infernal abilities and those caused the set to be one of the best DD for almost a year and a half. I don't know if anybody knows how many of the sets are still broken in a similar way. So, firstly they should take a look at all proc items and their chances to proc status effects.

Chance to proc status effects should be:
    Weapon enchants 20%
    Standard ability 10%
    Area of effect abilities 5%
    Damage over time abilities 3%
Area of effect damage over time abilities 1%
    Light and Heavy Attacks 0%

And then it's time to take a look at if the status effects should proc another procs. Bring forth the standardization hammer  and bring it in order.
P.S.: If it really happens, don't forget that poor DKs rely on the status effects.

    Status effects are not procs.

Syvarra poison damage can apply poison status effect dot, and has two chances to do so...inital direct damage and the subsequent dot. Both are relatively low chances though.

A status effect can trigger a proc set because ZOS simplified things to "when you deal damage".

They said procs can't (or aren't supposed to) proc procs. Well... I've been running Leeching Plate, Bahraha's Curse, and Sentinel of Rkugamz. When I take damage Leeching procs, when Leeching does damage it procs Bahraha's, and when Leeching or Bahraha's heals you it procs Sentinel. Weeeeeeee. This is my "pug proof" setup for dungeons and anything overland. I can literally afk most world bosses and never die.

    Leeching Plate:
(2 items) Adds 1206 Maximum Health
(3 items) Adds 4% Healing Taken
(4 items) Adds 1206 Maximum Health
(5 items) When you take damage, you summon a cloud of leeching poison under the assailant. The cloud deals 1180 Poison Damage every 1 second for 5 seconds and heals you for 100% of the damage caused. A cloud can be created once every 5 seconds.

    Bahraha's Curse:
(2 items) Adds 1206 Maximum Health
(3 items) Adds 1096 Maximum Magicka
(4 items) Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina, Reduces your damage taken from environmental traps by 40%.
(5 items) When you deal damage, you have a 25% chance to create desecrated ground for 5 seconds, which reduces the Movement Speed of enemies within 3.5 meters by 60%, damages them for 960 Magic Damage every 1 second, and heals you for 100% of the damage done. This effect can occur once every 5 seconds.

    Sentinel of Rkugamz:
(1 item) Adds 4% Healing Done
(2 items) When you heal yourself or an ally you summon a Dwemer spider that heals for 1000 Health and restores 125 Magicka and Stamina to you and your allies within 5 meters every 1 second for 8 seconds. This effect can occur once every 15 seconds.

PS: The "Target is Immune" spam seems to be because of Bahraha's "Reduces Movement Speed" component.

That Leeching can proc Bahraha's was stopped at one point, I am pretty sure of that because I stopped wearing Leeching and Bahraha since then. Maybe they reintroduced it, probably unintended.

I don't know. I've been using Leeching and Bahraha's for a long time and I've never noticed it not working. But I just came back from a break about a month ago that I took before Greymoor and it's still working.

Edit: It's possible that Leeching is causing the poisoned status and that could be what's proccing the other. If poisoned actually procs that often. But I'm fairly certain I've seen some other procs proccing procs too. It's hard to tell what is working as intended with this game...

Last time I checked, fire version of Domihaus was able to proc from itself (yes, the edge of the ring) so there might be still some buggers in the system.
