On Molag Kena you have to destroy the 4 ads so the shield drops from boss. Even if we killed them the model of the ad stayed as the shield. Happened multiple times. Wipes do not help.
I just did WGT normal a couple times tonight. I noticed that if you kill the boss while the adds are starting up, the adds keep casting the shield as if the boss was alive and we killed them individually.
I experienced that same bug. One of the adds didn't explode - he kept staying there, no health bar anymore, not exploding. Molag Kena didn't lose the shield and we couldn't complete the dungeon.
Later I did another run of the same dungeon without that bug.
We tried running this dungeon last night and had the same issue. When fighting the lightning aspects to destroy the shield, one of them would just stop having a health bar and we couldn't damage it. Yet the shield over Molag Keena would remain. We wiped and tried again 6 times and it would glitch at different points, sometimes at the earlier shield, once it glitched with Keena at 2%! Very frustrating! Finally on the last try we managed to defeat her, we just wouldn't have had time to do the entire dungeon again.
We were able to get past the the boss after intentionally wiping four times. To be honest I don't know what we did differently. Though I think that I was the only one killing the adds the last time.
keep in mind friends it's only a necro if it's not still relevant....
So this happened several times to me yesterday during the pledge, and I have isolated 1 way to reproduce this reliably EVERYTIME!
Dropping the STORM ATTRONACH ult on Kena just prior to kena applying the shield (has to be up when Kena shields and the adds spawn). In each case, the adds (at least 1) could not be killed, and would not explode/despawn requiring a wipe to complete. As an experiment, I solod for 5 minutes trying every method of doing damage to kena during this phase, and could not render any damage.
This bug has been around since the beginning.. why is this still a thing?
I have isolated 1 way to reproduce this reliably EVERYTIME!
Since you necroed - it's easy to reproduce, especially in normal version of the dungeon.
The boss spawns adds at 60% and 30% HP. If he spawns adds at 60% and you keep damaging it down to 30% during the summoning animation, it always bugs out.
Workaround - don't attack the boss when it starts summoning animation. I always inform my group about that whenever I'm in WGT, just to prevent this bug from happening.
This looks like an interrupt issue to me. When the add is going through their explosion animation, if someone crushing shocks it, it can interrupt the explosion... thus meaning he's up eternally...
It's been this way now for a LONG time... I'm shocked that it hasn't gotten more tongues wagging...
