Are the double node drops a cover for a huge number of disconnects in game - or is it just me?

Honest question - anyone else getting disconnect lots in load screens before the game as well as some in game? Were these double drops planned or is this just a bribe to distract players from the broken sets, broken loading etc?

I know what it is - I wondered why we had it and if it coincided with the state of the game - like when events get extended because the game is poorly

It did strike me as completely impromptu morale booster, since it isn’t an actual event proper (no tickets, no Impresario) and has no precedent to the best of my knowledge.

Funny it runs out as the patch drops 😂. stinks of holding on to as many people as they can until the fix *some* issues. Think people fell off a Christmas tree 😂

How can any event be a cover for the game performing poorly when the event is designed and intended to get people to play the game more.

BTW, the event is more than just double drops. It is a sales pitch to sell more DLCs/the current chapter.

Basically, the way I see it is what a lot of others here have said on this topic and yet another "optional" push for ESO+ since farming those nodes are going to encourage our bag space to be used up pretty quick.

"Gee, it sure would be NICE to have that paywalled crafting bag"

Personally, I cancelled my ESO+ sub last month and will not be resubbing until IF and WHEN some proper fixes and updates come to ESO. Seems every. single. update. causes more and more issues and it's become to the point where I don't much look forward to even logging in because of what the game experience has become. Not even worried about inventory management.

Double drops were inadvertently introduced with Update 28. Somebody decided to take advantage of the mistake and spin it into a feature, by adding double XP.

Want to know how I know this? Because the double drops have not been doubled into quadruple drops today. I am harvesting the same amount from nodes as I was yesterday.

The best thing about this is that it took ZOS a good 6 years to finally grasp the concept of a server-wide 2x.

It's also a nice gesture for newer players who are still leveling their main characters.

Sure, we can certainly be appreciative as well as being realistic! I mean, gifts given at Christmas are still nice (imo) even if we don’t think they’re from Santa. At least I found them so the one time I celebrated Christmas...

I'm not having any disconnects on PC on either server. In fact, in the 2.5 years I've been playing this game, I've only had two disconnects total. And with this mini event I already got my NB former main to 50; the rest of the event I'll work on my second account main on EU.

You are not alone, everybody in my 5 guilds + me got tons of disconnections or blue screen today, the more memorable was when i switched to heal, it crashed, i rebooted the game, loaded in and got kicked because of chat (didn't even got time to spoke in chat^^), i relogued and got kicked again, it took me 5 try to connect, then during the Undaunted pledge, 2/4 players got several disconnection on the White gold tower...

Good Job dev team, you are the best one, as are the game engineer...

I actually had 2 disconnects today. The first I had been banking and was walking toward the door. The second I was doing a lot of alchemy research on one character. That one took about 5 minutes before I could log on again.

But it is very rare for me to disconnect.

Couldn’t even complete a simple nCR+1 tonight - 20 or so DCs in our group. Atrocious and we get offered double ancestor silk. I’d like a working game

There's been some event related haunting going on like players getting event tickets while no event is on. One such thing was Western Skyrim having double drops unexpectedly enabled after patch (not sure which one). So they decided to enable it everywhere and make it an unscheduled event. Nice.

Bribe and diversion I'm still happy for the farming, but I have a feeling, a lot of the broken content introduced with the dlc will go on for the enirety of the patch...

@kenjiblaster25 The disconnects are just you, I'm not seeing any. That said, you did not say which platform you're on; there might be a problem specific to XB1 or PS/4. There are a lot of disconnect reports in specific trials instances on PC, and likely when using specific skill combinations (especially in PvP), and vs Lich-type bosses, but it's not a general game issue as far as I know. It's always possible that it's a co-incidental problem on your ISP/internet connection side.

The double-resource/xp/gold event is very likely a partial compensation by ZoS for all the known issues encountered since Markarth launched. And hey, maybe it was just easier for ZoS to extend the benefit to all zones than to fix the unintended double-resource node drops in the Western Skyrim zone

This isn't a cover-up or a bribe or a distraction. This event was datamined months ago, along with a few others, I think one of them was a Crafter's event? The Greymoor event was part of that datamine too. It's most likely just coincidence that the event was slated to go live when it did, though I suppose it is possible it was meant to happen next year or something and they moved it up. I doubt that though, as it seems like too much work for them to do.

No please not that, I mean I already canceled my ESO+ subscription but I don't wanna stop playing the game! =( I just can't go on like this with the broken combat

This is a really bad patch. My in game performance is the worst its ever been and im not really that excited for the "new" ( i use that term loosely) stuff.
