Let the heavy attacks restore the highest of your offensive stats

With the Markarth DLC released, damage of Light and Heavy Attacks now scales with the higher offensive stat. Why not make Heavy Attack also restore the highest of your Stamina and Magicka? This will have no impact on any existing builds, but will also make hybrid builds much more viable.

No impact? I beg to differ, using sword and board heavy attacks on mag toons in pvp is a perfectly valid way to restore stamina.
No, the current system is fine.

    No thx...
Also how should that help hybrids, which will restore always the same resource with their heavy attacks and cant refill the other resource?
Only option would be slotting skills increasing stats like inner light on one bar to make the magicka pool on this bar bigger or the need of sword and shield, since you can enchant the shield with a magicka or stamina glyph.

This will completely hinder hybrid builds and niche stamina builds with ice staff on backbar. a BIG NOPE.

Lol niche stamina builds because of ice staff? You mean probably the coming meta builds ;)

No impact in any build? This change will make every tank and hybrid build unplayable. You'll be playing with you warden tank, use your magicka skills and deplete your magicka. Then you hit with your staff and BOOM: still with no magicka.
I can't imagine a way that this change will make hybrid builds viable.

I think you're trying make it more viable for a magicka character to use exclusively stamina weapons, or vice versa.

The current system restores stam on heavy attacks if it's a stam weapon, and magicka on heavy attacks if it's a staff. Tons of players use a 'front bar' and 'back bar' setup, where they'll have the stamina weapon on one bar and the magicka on the other. Tanks will often have 1-h and shield one one bar, staff on another.

These characters use both stam and magicka resources for different abilities.

If there was a blanket change that made heavy attacks always restore the highest pool regardless of weapon, then these characters would lose the ability to switch weapons and restore whichever pool they were low on. This would be a very significant difference.

^^Exactly this. In PvP off stat regeneration is very important for magicka builds and a few stamina builds. Currently I play a build similar to this one below.

It is the only build I am having fun with solo in Cyrodiil right now. It can kill players and sustain without having to use any damage proc sets, and being able to decide which heavy attack I should use for resource restore is integral.

If this became a thing my magicka tank is going to struggle with stamina. No thankyou.
