Been back after a very long time..
Does ESO now has any classes with pets that can tank (aka hold aggro) thereby assisting while doing solo questing stuff ?

Sorcs and wardens. But they don't really hold agro, it just splits between you 2. I for once hate it when they focus my bird instead of me.

Yes and no. ESO is not like World of Warcraft where you can have different kinds of tanking pets (that you can name) and that perform and do work well as tanks. Even in some cases in raiding if the hunter/warlock knows what they are doing and the guild knows the pet is off tanking or something (to ensure healers heal the pet).

But in ESO the pets do taunt, and they will hold aggro for a bit but just for a bit, and your control over them is pretty much non-existent.

Lately I have had pets taunt mobs that I am not even in aggro range with. I am not attacking the mob, I am doing nothing but the pet is still taunting them. The pet system in ESO is terrible by any measure and does not play like other mmo's. In the truest sense, ESO pets TRULY are nothing more than permanent dots, who also aggro and make life a living hell.

Hold Y (or whatever key you've bound pet control to) and right click to prevent your pets from attacking. Heavy attack your target or Y + right click again to make them attack.

You can also Y+ right click to stop them from attacking a target they're currently attacking - it recalls them to you.

While not specifically a "tanking pet", the Shadowrend monster set synergizes well with tanks.

I feel my Clannfear creates a great barrier between my character and difficult mobs

Thank you. I am aware of the keybinds and I use them. I understand we are able to recall the pet but at the point we have to, the damage is already done. The pet is attacking a mob and we are in combat. This keeps us from faming a node, unlocking a chest, etc. the The issue is that there is no indication on the UI to know if your pet is in a passive, or defensive/aggressive state like in WOW.

Also the keybinds are clunky and do not allow for fast pet control in combat. If we could use modifier keys with the factory UI/keybinds and had UI elements that told us the state our pet was in, the system would be easier to use and communicative with the player. IF ESO would adopt a system similar to what WOW implemented 16 years ago, this would be a non issue.

Unless this is changed the clanfear will hold agro as long as you are the only one attacking the enemy.
If other players attack it will loose it, that way it it can not steal agro from tank.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
