Ok - for once and for all - can someone please officially tell me if drop rates for Weapons in Dungeons are the same for Vet as Normal?

I have run Frostvaults like a billion times (ok more like 50) looking to get a Tzog Bow.

No luck at all. Barely any Tzog weapons at all in those "billion" runs. Tons and tons of Tzog gear, but no bows. ***I am aware that weapons only drop last boss and sometimes in chest***

A guy I just ran with told me his similar sob story - ran Frostvault tons in Normal = nothing. He ran it twice on Vet - Bow drops.

Is there any official writings somewhere that clearly state that Yes drop rates are the EXACT same in Vet as Normal? Because iirc - in Trials - you only get weapons and jewelry from Vet Trials.

Please end my suffering and tell me how I can get this Tzog Bow.

I have exactly the opposite story. I run it on normal total of 4 times, all on low level characters while leveling, I dropped 3, 3 tzogvin daggers in these runs all between level 45 and 49. While running vet regularly and not dropping the daggers there. So you know. Back then I was super pissed, but I guess that with time they dropped on vet too. So all I have to say is, good luck :3

One Tamriel was the update that changed itemization for normal/vet dungeons, so that's where you get stuff like:

"Dungeon bosses and mini bosses will now drop a set piece 100% of the time.
Mini bosses will drop either a hand, waist, or feet set piece.
Bosses will drop either a chest, shoulder, head or leg set piece.
The final Boss of a dungeon will drop weapons or jewelry.
Normal mode dungeon bosses will drop blue-quality items.
Veteran mode dungeon bosses will drop purple-quality items."
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/294849/pc-mac-patch-notes-v2-6-4-update-12-one-tamriel

Monster helms and blue/purple quality of drops are the only listed difference between normal and vet dungeons. That hasn't changed.

Also, did you mean Perfected weapons only drop from Vet trials? Because you most certainly can get blue quality jewelry from normal trials - though for some, like Cloudrest, you might have to do the harder modes on normal to get jewelry drops.

That is what random means...random. You have:

    1. Sword
    2. Two Handed sword
    3. Mace
    4. Two Handed Mace
    5. Dagger
    6. Ice Staff
    7. Fire Staff
    8. Lightning Staff
    9. Restoration Staff
    10. Shield
    11. Bow
    12. Ring
    13. Necklace

13 different possible drops 1/13=.0769....or a 7.6% chance of getting the drop you are looking for each and every time you kill the last boss or open a chest.

Put another way, you have a 92.4% chance of NOT getting what you are looking for...are you really so surprised it hasnt dropped for you when the odds are 12:1 against you getting it....those odds reset every time. I can't even pop a chest reliably at 40% chance...sometimes 10 tries in a row I get broken lock picks.

I think drop rates is the same and for dlc dungeons its standard to farm weapons in normal.

If pugging offer to buy weapons, that get people more interested in trading, many in an run will simply keep it for later use as its known to be good.

However loot table is stacked against popular sets so they are harder to get.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Always helps to vent, that's how the rng works in this game. Gratz 🤓

You forgot axe and battle axe. And the fact you have 50% for jewelry and 50% for weapons. And that there are 3 sets. Generally chance to drop exactly the weapon you want at last boss is 1/68, while from chest it is 1/117 (this one I am not sure since chest drops are weird). If you have 4 group members farming just for you you should be done in 10 runs on vet (including chests)

If you're farming any gear from dungeons or trials, it's better to do vet. Final bosses drop weps or jewelery on both but the chests are higher tier. On normal you mostly find simple ones while on vet intermediate at minimum, but mostly advanced or even master. Higher tier chests have higher chance to get set pieces or even several sets items while simple ones have just green non set item and some gold.
