The only way the quest could update for me is if people just killed the adds and not the main boss herself. It was a trick trying to get 20 people to not attack the main boss until late in the fight, though. LOL.

What we do (EU PC) is pull the boss away from it's spawn with a taunt and let it reset. Once it resets it is OK to kill in my experience. I find it nearly impossible to stop the horde from killing the boss in under 2 minutes .

Completed it today. The taunt/reset thing appears to work.

...the trouble is preventing people nuking her on arrival!

This, so much this. It's so hard to achieve this when you've got 30 people going out of their way to keep it there and burn it down as fast as possible to ruin it for others. I wasted 5 hours trying last night, because I'm stupidly stubborn, and logged in a minute ago to see it's still exactly the same situation.
