Let NB "summon Shade" damage type scale with highest stat.

Now it and its morphs do magicka damage only, even if your highest stat is stamina. This obviously favors magicka builds with buffs(CP and other) to magicka damage. To make the shade more usable to stamina builds I'd like both damage type and amount to scale with highest stats.

What do you think? Is there any reason the shade should only do magicka damage even when it's scaling on stamina?

    Yes, I agree. Soul Trap is a good comparison. If the shade worked like that it would be more equally usable for both stamina and magicka builds.

    I thought they had recently changed it to scale with highest stats. Did they reverse that decision?

    Damage type is still magicka even if stamina is your highest offensive stat.
    Unless there's something new in the Markarth DLC that I'm not aware of..

    I agree with this. Having similar scaling to Soul Trap would be great for stamblades. I made a thread about having "Dark Shade" summon two shades like it used to, just for the cool factor, and that idea is also getting a pretty positive response.

    Would be cool to see both of these changes made to the skill at the same time. Have ourselves a little Shade overhaul.

    Yeah of all the all the abilities the game this is THE one that makes the most sense to scale off highest stat.

    Description says "Create a shadow image of YOURSELF". Well, my self scales off stamina, so my shadow image should scale off stamina. So IDK who's shadow image I've been summoning, but it's definitely not mine.

    I'm sad that Summon Shade doesn't look like a player.
    Is it difficult to duplicate a shadow that makes the player's appearance translucent?
    I think it's the easy task.

    Definitely. Its really handy for my bow build when I want to distract idiots in Cyrodil but if it increased in damage based off of stamina build stats and champion points it would be a lot more helpful.

    Seems like slightly less of an issue in group PVE now that stamblade hits pen cap when flanking and with only 2 points in piercing, but it would be nice for it to scale with mighty

    There are a couple of abilities that should do that.

    Flames of oblivion and standard should do poison damage if you are a stam dk.

    Nightblade shade should do phisical or magical.

    Ritual of ret should do mag or disease or poison, i think disease makes more sense than poison, because if know healing powers you also probably need to know how a disease works, meaning potentially you could use it to your own advantage.

    unless im missing something, it does.

    theres a 103k dps iron atro stamblade parse using shade and it is a pretty significant amount of the dudes dmg. it did more damage added up than the dudes consuming trap did, which he also used.

    Exactly. Why not let damage type also scale with highest stat, like in soul trap? Now magicka builds are favored when using the shade and stamina builds get their shade nerfed cause it can't do physical damage.
