Why doesn't the quest limit increase as quests are added to the game? :(

I’ve played this game since beta, and until now I had no idea there was a daily limit to the number of quests you can do. I only get to play a couple of hours most days, but one day a week I usually get to do a play session that lasts at least half of the day. Does that limit apply to just DAILY quests or ALL quests, such as main story quests, side quests, etc? If it would help some plays play the way they want to I’m all for ZOS raising the limit. And now I want to be a Hero of Tamriel too - I don’t think I’ve heard of that achievement before now! 🙂

I think you get Hero of Tamriel for completing Cadwell's Gold + Cyrodiil objectives!

It is a cap on repeatable quests, including writs, scouting and bounties, sacraments, heists, Imp City and Cyrodiil quests, etc. The only exception appears to be Master Writs which you can complete endlessly (to my knowledge, but I could be wrong!)

It is from completing the quest objectives in all three alliances and Cyrodiil. It has nothing to do with Cadwell's Silver or Gold.

@YandereGirlfriend probably brought up the reason Zos would not increase the daily quest cap. When the game launched bots were everywhere and I mean everywhere. You could not do quests without seeing them phase in at points in quests lines that required interaction. They would phase in, step forward, interact with the objective, step back, and phase back out (to move mysteriously to the next objective). As they were interacting with the objective the next bot would phase in and phase out.

Zos made a lot of changes to the game including adding the boss loot timer. It would make sense that if ESO did not have a daily quest limit they would have added one then since bots were using quests heavily.

Again, not arguing either way. Just noting some logic Zos might have considered.

Do quests then turn them in before moving to a new zone?

Sorry, I'm talking about the daily quest limit, not the journal limit. Right now there is a cap of 50 maximum daily quests that can be completed.

Interesting. Didn't know that. I wonder why there's a limit.

That's what I wanna know! What is the reason ZOS lol.

I feel like the only reasonable suggestion so far is that it may be meant to curtail bots...but I haven't seen any bots fighting dragons so...

Interesting... Never knew there was a daily quest limit. But perhaps it should be extended if the number of total dailies you can grab go over that limit.

The limit was probably put in place to stop people or bots from farming dailies to get motifs. Zos wouldn't want to see a flood of rare motifs on the market. That just wouldn't be any fun lol

WoW had the limit to keep people from burning out on dailies, but it became a major limit when trying to grind older content.

I suspect the same would be true here, but I am not grinding dailies, so I don't know for sure.

Well, I'm not saying the dailies should be unlimited. Just that you should at least be able to do all the ones that are at least available to you. Especially since the drop rates for rare items ARE so low to begin with.

For WoW it made more sense to lock dailies because a) they were mindless and b) you earned nothing but reputation and a bit of gold. WoW is notorious for using time as a means to artificially slow player progression.

ESO, however, doesn't have any mechanics like rep or achievement locked progression (like earning flight, for example).

I agree, the daily limit seems archaic as it is the same as it was at launch. I have hit the limit many times during the Anniversary event, when there are coffers for daily quests, just by doing my daily writs and the Cyrodiil town quests. I however didn't realize this was a quest limit, I had just thought I had hit my daily limit of coffers on that specific toon for the day, so thank you for teaching me something new to me!

That is not completely true. They removed the cap before all those grinds. I was trying to do many old grinds for various reasons and got seriously hindered by it before that change.

I was ironically the one who got them to confirm they were removing it too, way back when. Though their reason for removing it turned to be to add a lot more annoying grinding rather than letting some of us finish old content, but that is a different issue.
