So after Greymoor main characters not recognising me as a vampire in Markarth I have this dialogue with Adusa-daro, after completing all the Rivenspire, Western Skyrim and Markarth:

And just watch when she becomes a House Quest and has dialogue that refers to you as being a mortal regardless of if your a Vampire who might I add is more pure a Vampire and far more powerful then her.
    Spoiler
And a certain Vampire still has no dialogue for the player if you are also a Vampire which given the clan we are part of should be a very big deal, imagine the reaction of the Ashen Lord when he realizes the Vampire who sired you is older and possibly even more powerful then him.

But there is really a weird dialogue with Melina.
    Spoiler
Ok, she doesn't remember me, bad memory and all that. But why I don't remember her? I definitely talked to her in Blackreach.

Yeah the frequency of oblivious questions is only increasing it seems.
Even worse, when it's the only thing you can choose to progress a quest.

    It's a common thing at this point, but it still dumbfounds me. No matter if you've completed all this year's story dungeon's, prologues and chapter quests;

"the gray host?" (first line when meeting Verandis in markarth)

    "what threat?"
    "what's the icereach coven?":
(meeting lyris after the story dungeons)

"What do you mean, gwendis? You're a vampire and you can see the vampire sigils, but i can't (not being a vampire), please explain?

    Another good one:
    "what dragon threat?"

    Meanwhile:

ESO: "Dragons, dragons, dragons, dragons, dragons, dragons, dragons, dragons"

I just think of it as asking "what can you tell me about X and Y" instead of it actually being "what's X and Y". It's the only thing one can do at this point :p

In my roleplay I have two ways of dealing with this dumb dialogue:

First: The Vestige is an avatar of Lorkhan. The Vestige does not speak, ever, but people think they hear words the Vestige has spoken. NPC's hear the Vestige speak the words that the NPC needs to hear in order for the NPC to progress on the path towards confronting Lorkhan's test. This is the Vestige acting as a catalyst, or like a prompter in a theatre. It's also a bit like the NPC is on the psychoanalysts couch. When the psychoanalyst says, "tell me about your mother," it's not really because they are curious about your mother.

Second: The Vestige is possessed by a Xyvkin Soulbrander who is acting as an intelligence officer for Molag Bal. He doesn't just want to know what's what, he's also trying to find out who knows what, what their attitudes are, and how to manipulate them into serving his master's cause. This character has got as far as Murkmire and has had some great successes in thwarting the schemes of other Princes and bring them into conflict with one another.

It's even worse than that because she is an enchanter hireling who sends you messages! How come my character doesn't remember her at all when she has had so many interactions with the Vestige?

I actually did this quest yesterday and was curious about that part, I looked on the USEP and as it turns out if your a Vampire or Werewolf the sigils will be visible to you, if not you cannot see them so Gwendis will give you an item filled with her blood which will let you see them or something like that.

Same tonedeafness as many dialogues in Elsweyr regarding Necromancers. "Did you hear? There are NECROMANCERS about!" (paraphrased, of course lol)

"Uh... yeah. I AM a Necromancer..."

There are a few cases where you can admit to being a necromancer, including to Abnur Tharn who isn't impressed, and to an aspiring necromancer who's bending herself into knots to justify her behavior, and it horrifies her. Most of the time when you just quietly let it slide, you're in situations where admitting you're a necromancer would be a very bad thing.

That said, there's also Tharn's, "We'll make a necromancer out of you yet!"

So, the writing is up to the same Greymoor standard then.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

Yes, I always chuckle a little when NPCs are telling me of their disdain/fear of daedra...given that I have two very large visible daedra at my side at all times 😂

The questions like "What's House Ravenwatch?" are likely there for first time/very new players. After this many years of MMOs I'm not sure that's still necessary - because every person and her dog knows to google stuff by now....

I though about it and here it may actually make sense. Yes, you know who is Melina, but you may not know her face, so you don't know that the person you are talking to is Melina.

Well, it takes one "if" in the code to check is your character needs to aks that question. But then, there are people who take (oh, horror!) breaks and can genuinely forget who these guys are.
As for the google - I'd still prefer the game itself telling me whatever I need to know.
