Sorry, I forgot to separate my already busy schedule to check in on the development of the game. How dare I.

Everyone is not just on the computer all day long wondering what their every move is. I get it if you got no job or dont have priorities or whatever your case may be. Some of us barely have time to play. So stop acting like we all should be up to date with every single detail the developers decide to make. Your comment is absurd.

Those “tanky” builds would then be utterly useless in the Deathmatch they’ve randomly queued for even though they’ve specifically built for chaos ball and capture the relic. It’s a two way street so we can play with our friends again in group play, i’d happily sit through whatever game mode as long as I have the option to queue with my friends.
If the queue is filtered between solo and group and then filtered further by specific game modes your wait time is going to be through the roof in comparison. So now it’s two options - solo or group. Much better imo as you can’t “build” for anything anymore, you get what you’re given.

I'd still recommend making the time to read the first set of PTS patch notes for the new update sometime in the five or six weeks of the PTS. You won't catch every detail that way, but its a pretty good way to get a sweeping overview of the coming changes while they aren't locked in on the Live servers. Most stuff doesn't change much from PTS to Live. And hopefully, it doesn't take much time for the info you get!
In the case of Battlegrounds, the PTS had effectively the same conditions as the Live servers, which are described as follows. I've bolded the answer to your thread's question.
"Battlegrounds Updates
In this update, we are testing the re-addition of group queuing to Battlegrounds, where players of group sizes up to 4 can join the queue together and be placed on the same team. Solo players can join this queue, or they can join the solo queue to be matched exclusively with other solo players. With this change, we have also removed specific game types to help promote overall queue health. We’ve also made additional improvements to Battleground matchmaking to help promote better long-term match making. "

*Also sighs in Cyberpunk delay*

So true.
It is a little late to comment now since that ship has sailed.
I think it was a good change though. Even more so with group BGs as it does not permit players to form groups for specific playstyles. Objective-based instanced PvP offers a greater challenge anyhow.

Do you guys not use addons or something?
Literally everyone uses addons so they adapt their builds accordingly, you have 1 min before match starts(ofc unless you are unlucky and join a BG that had already started) which is plenty of time to push 1 button. These addons allow you to switch between sets at a push of a button, literally.

I am very well aware of add-ons. It still requires more PvP skill to play objective-based PvP.

P.S chaos ball isn't fun

Why are you forcing people to play modes we personally don't enjoy, it was plenty active you didn't have to them all the modes into 1 queue.
One of the reasons I hate these modes is because people purposely build into these heavy tanky builds where you can't even kill them, dps classes are inferior in capture the flag, chaos ball. Also, all i want to do is play pvp and battle against other players not run around in circles looking for a ball or capturing flags. My MAIN reason I dont play cyrodil/other modes besides deathmatch is because most of the time is spend running around. That is not my definition of fun.
Please for the love of variety and the reason I play ESO(deathmatch), please, i beg you guys, please, pleaaaaase seperate the modes, at least for solo play. I just want to have my favorite part of the game returned to me, please guys...
BG's did not require any changes, it was perfect just the way it was. Why did you guys all of the sudden decide to make this change? I don't recall anyone demanding it or complaining about the lack of activity. I can understand if it was because of lack of activity but BG's has been mega active since i started to play. Longest queue times are around 10 mins.

I'll just try to keep it short.
When they removed the group queue a lot of people got upset and felt like they couldn't enjoy BGs anymore.
Some time after that, Rich Lambert during a twitch stream, said they didn't see any increase in player activity in BGs due to the removal of group queues. He also mentioned that splitting solo and group queues wouldn't be a feasible solution, due to the low BG population overall (it would be too difficult getting a match, basically).
Because a lot of people, initially at least, complained about the removal of the group queue, but ZOS couldn't split the queue (due to low numbers), they went for a middle road; you can't pick and chose what mode you play in, but you can queue solo or as a group.

they should just remove or rework these modes then. they just suck. a few ppl like them im sure but the majority do not. you can see that from the leaderboards before this patch
