What's coming for 2021 - Skyrim's 10th anniversary

We know they love anniversaries, next year marks 10 years since TES V Skyrim. Here's what i would love to see.

The rest of the Skyrim map filled in.
A new Dragonborn class
A new shouts skill line
A new Blades guild

Doubt we will get that, breaks lore and all, but I suppose they could creatively write it in.

What do you guys think we'll see for next year's year long adventure?

Next year is Oblivions 15th Anniversary. They are not going to do Skyrim's 10th because its quite clear and quite obvious they are celebrating Tes 4's Anniversary. Its all but confirmed by Lyris we will be seeing Skingrad next year. If you down the content, talked with npcs or listened to them. You will find Tes 4 references. The new Solo Arena even has Patrick Stewart's Let me see your face line. Next year will be 100% without a doubt Cyrodiil. Why do you think they are finally adding in the Imperial quest for the New Life Festival after a few years or more without having one for them? Because next year will be a heavy focused Imperial theme.

I apologize for what I am about to do.


Dragonborn class will never happen. See dragonknight, the fact we're already the soul-less vestige, and lack of vampire lord. (If we can't be vamp lords they absolutely will not let us be the dragonborn.)

Shouts skill line will never happen. See the lore and how it makes us learning even 1 shout basically impossible since ESO happens all in the same year.

A new Blades Guild will also never happen as the Blades weren't around during ESO and not to mention a guild based on them would be very hard to do. They were founded sometime in the second era, though. But considering Cyrodiil is still a mess and their origin is very vague; I highly doubt they will touch that. Especially since they avoided Dawnguard this year despite them being kind of a thing.

There is absolutely no way they could creatively write any of this in without utterly annihilating the lore. Except for maybe throwing blades at us similar to how they threw the dragonguard at us.

Also next year we already data mined Mehrunes Dagon's model in the files and it is oblivion's 15th year anniversary. It also already confirmed via in game dialogue we're going to some province in cyrodiil.

The proto-Blades already exist. We assisted them in the Imperial City questline protecting the Dragonfires from Molag Bal for the future Dragonborn (Tiber Septim, not the player character.)

And if you don't know why us being Dragonborn ourselves would break the storyline of the Planemeld and the Daedric Wars like a rotten twig, you need to go replay TES IV Oblivion in time for its anniversary.

1. Beautiful new zones
2. Enchanting music
3. Familiar faces
4. Memorable new characters
5. Bugs
6. Specifically - bugged cosmetics
7. More specifically - bugged cosmetics as a reward for an uninspired grindy event
8. Differently specifically - bugs that were ignored on PTS
9. Predictable story with SJW stuff sprinkled on top
10. Cool but inconsequential details side by side with glaring disregard for the character's state, so to say. Being vampire or WW is almost irrelevant in the current season and other characters often do not recognize that we are perfectly familiar with some people or organizations. Makes you feel like world is alive, but you are a ghost or something.
11. Combat/balance changes
12. QOL stuff (hopefully)

And maybe a CP system rework

I think we are done with Skyrim for the time being.

There are plenty of other spots in the map to open. Not sure 2 years in a row of Nord DLC would be an exciting thing.

None of the above as we are just about confirmed to be going to Cyrodiil and they are definitely not adding more Skyrim zones two years in a row.

Maybe around November for the official anniversary we get another week or two long event with double Western Skyrim rewards. Maybe the reward boxes drop a motif mirroring the iconic Skyrim Iron Armor style if that isn't already in the game. Nothing else.

Well, I would like these things but it's not up to me, I'm just interested in what other people would like to see or what plans if any have already leaked. I never played Morrowind or Oblivion, I started with Skyrim so it has a soft spot for me. I've played ESO since closed beta and waited a long time to visit Solitude, I'm just greedy for more.

I guess at the start I was disappointed ESO wasn't Skyrim online, but I am very pleased with how the game has grown over the years.

They probably won't fill in the rest of the Skyrim map for a long time, now that they've spent all of 2020 on it. I've been enjoying what we've gotten of it so far, though.

Even though these sound nice they make absolutely no sense lore wise...

* Dragonborn is not a "class" per se but even if you consider it to be, dragonborns are too unique to be treated as a common healer or knight.
* Shouts are way too powerful and sooooooooo rare outside the nord race that you can actually count the cases of non-nord historical figures to ALLEGEDLY having had the ability to use them (and even those cases are constantly disputed).
* The Blades guild as such was created by Tiber Septim. Before the third Empire they were basically the Dragonguard (as in the Elsweyr chapter dragonguard).

Also, it has already been confirmed (sort of) that next chapter will be a Cyrodiil one (as it is also the 15th anniversary of Oblivion).

Uniqueness is not a problem, YOU are the only hero in ESO, everyone else are just passing PCs, you would be the only Dragonborn.

Shouts are powerful but they can be tuned to work with the game as any other ability is, perhaps it would only be an ultimate.

So we could see the evolution of the Dragonguard into the Blades, I don't see a problem with that.

Do you have a link regarding the confirmation of Cyro for next year and does that mean it's a year of pvp?

If we were Dragonborn we could relight the Dragonfires ourselves ending the planemeld and by divine right would be the legitimate emperor of Tamriel but there is the thing, we are soulless, the exact opposite of a Dragonborn who has the soul of a Dragon.

We'll see the try something but it'll be riddled with bugs.
As usual.
Maybe they shouldn't ruin it by doing anything at all.
Or something really safe. Like giving us a loot crate or a nice spread of daily login rewards. That procedure hasn't been screwed up yet.

Uniqueness IS a problem. That's why we didn't become vampire lords. (Trust me I wish I was wrong here. But ZoS seem to now think it's an issue.) And there are no dragon borns during this time; making us a dragonborn would absolutely destroy the lore.

Shouts are beyond ultimate abilities and again; take literal years to learn just 1.

The evolution of the dragonguard into the Blades also doesn't work because ESO is in the same year. The dragonguard don't really morph into the blades till Tiber Septim.

Well, I want a Nerevarine class, a new levitation skill line (including levitation pots on alchemy) some scroll of Almsivi intervention or Divine intervention, may be a scroll of Icarian flight. Of course spells like sound, sanctuary, chamaleon and control creature/humanoid (this one of course with the chance of being use for enchanting weapons), and a joinable Cammona Tong as guild, because thieves guild in this game (as well as in Skyrim) sucks badly.

You cannot be a dragonborn and a soulless one at the same time... I mean, Dovahkiin has the soul of a dragon, right?

Shouts are not Ultimates... shouts are a form of tonal magic waaaaay beyond the power of a magicka/stamina based ultimate. Only few people in Nirn history has been able to use tonal magic, most of them took them a lot of years of study. Consider that a formidable hero as Sai Sahan, with al his strength was unable to revive the lost art of the soul singers (who used a form of tonal magic that makes any Dragonborn look like a puppy)

And finally, the Akaviri Dragonguard turning into the Blades is not going to happen until a guy known as Hjalti Early-Beard set his feet on the Colovian States, which are in... let me see my map... oh yeah... Cyrodiil... in around 300 years more. Then you will be able to see a Dragonborn (and the Chim-el Adabal will appear again around the neck of a man)
