Imperial Fort?

Lately ive been into making Mercenary/Paladin Characters, and the most recent one i want to have start his own mercenary group(guild) but im not finding anything that suites exactly what im looking for. He is an Imperial and i want it based as near Cyrodil as i can, but the closest thing i can find to what im looking for is the Orc forts. and even those dont really give the impression im looking for. I want it to look like the Imperial legion is housed there, area for training, barracks, stable, just like an outpost type deal

There’s nothing exactly like what you’re asking, the closest is likely Domus Phrasticus in Craglorn. Imperial style, walled in, close to Cyrodiil, with smallish grounds but enough for making some outbuildings. The home itself would be ok for barracks, but doesn’t offer much for officer’s quarters.

You could make it work though.

i think that may be what i end up doing. if it was just a bit bigger then it would be perfect. but hey, if The Order of the Virtuous Blood can operate out a basement, then i guess i can work out a 2 story house. i would still love a bigger imperial style house to be added at some point though. Maybe if they do a Cyrodil chapter

Craglorn Arena, nestled in the southern mountains. Absolute Fortress and Barracks for an imperial mercenary guild.

i completely forgot about that one, since it is not in the crown store. now the problem comes in obtaining it. still interested in that BattleHorn Castle-esk house though, huge throwback if they can manage it

I had actually forgotten that existed. Seems like it might be perfect for what OP is looking for.

You could wait until Linchal Grand Manor becomes available during the next Gold Coast anniversary event - though it's quite expensive.

I'm personally really hoping for a proper Imperial fort (like Battlehorn Castle as you mentioned) in next year's likely Colovia chapter - or at least a proper walled county estate based in Cyrodiil (the ambience and environment of Strident Springs always feels too foreign for me, and the 'manor' in Linchal Grand Manor is too small while the courtyard feels too large for what I'd like).

that was my feelings exactly. ZOS seems to really like the more open planed "housing", like coldharbour estate, moonsugar meadows, stillwaters, etc... maybe if the next chapter is actually cyrodil, we can see a tiny county estate (colovian mountain?? please) given to the pc at the end of the questline as like a job done good, kind of like how the hall of the lunar champion was rewarded. maybe they can some how feature "upgrades" too like with the stones in lunar champion. thatd make a wonderful roleplay aspect. i know i loved working as a mercenary in TES:Oblivion to fix up Battlehorn and watch it turn into a thriving hall

I agree! If you haven't played it I'd recommend the 'Knights of the Nine Revelation' mod that allows you to build an even greater version at the end of the mod.

This sort of proper Colovian castle is precisely what I'm hoping for from next year:

    Including a proper portcullis:

    A sensible courtyard:

... and a grand hall inside the main castle!

I play on xbox so I couldn't download any mods. But now I wish I could have

Purchase the Earthtear Cavern and build it from the ground up, with the new solitude structures, it would look cool.

For a good military barracks ... I was thinking of something similar to: Sandswirl Manor or Enclave of the Hourglass.
They are the same buildings with a fortified courtyard.

I'm not going to say ... Moon Hunter Keep. Too big and it's the big yard that I especially appreciate. Moon Hunter Keep is only an assembly of several rooms of architectures of the Second Empire in one. I really like the very militarized side of the court.

The Istirus outpost? It is possible that the place is partially abandoned ... I imagine that the Istirus cohort participated in the Battle of Arrenthia ...
There is not much furnished in the courtyard while the buildings are relatively classic: similar to the Kvatch bank or a fort to the east, similar to the PvP Cyrodiil forts.

The Second Empire style of the base game is cool ... I'm just afraid of one thing: that all the forts and buildings across Colovia will be exactly the same as the ancient Colovian architecture of Skingrad. Unless Zos readjust the ruins of TES IV in good condition like the towers of western Skyrim ... But it would lack forts in that case ... (curious to see Istirus, at least the surrounding village of the outpost).

There will undoubtedly as always be three houses.
    > A tavern room in Skingrad.
    > A mansion in Skingrad.
    > Another mansion ... Either a fort or a house in Colovian area ... Either something in a Daedric plan.
