Better Character Face Builder

Hi,

I really, really hope someday very soon ZoS finally give us a better character face builder. Everybody know how poor variation options we have to create REALLY different toons.
The options are extremely limited, and final result is often quite similar to every character type for all ESO races.

I know that Khajiits and Argonians tend to be more complicated to introduce variations, but I think it is possible to have more "species", more options of different feline/reptile appearances.

Regarding human and mer faces, the builder give us basically 25 to 35% of real variations between faces. This is really bad. The result is a bunch of toons that seems clones of each other.

Please ZoS, consider update the Character Editor asap.

I always thought the diamond shaped face slider gives you more options than most other MMO's. Plus you have the ability to edit the face shape with all the other sliders for various face parts such as eye squint and eyebrow style and mouth shape and cheekbones and neck size and all kinds of stuff. Not sure what else you need.

Making your face round always makes your nose pointier. What if i want a round face with a big aquiline nose?

I think the face customisation is pretty good. Are there better systems in other games, yes... Are there worse systems in other games, absolutely!

This! I've been exploring my options for the new character the other day and was like "wtf is that dependency". Still better than Oblivion character creation.

Yes please, let us choose face height, width, and height, size, width and position of every facial feature.
Too many character looks alike now. Also give us more facial textures.

After coming from a game where the character appearance options are antediluvian, I find ESO's to be pretty good.

Meh. If I want young, smooth face but with a bigger nose then sadly it works the opposite

I came from Skyrim preceded by Oblivion. Oblivion's chargen was very convoluted with crazy interdependent sliders and the best results you could achieve were adequate/acceptable without mods. Skyrim's vanilla chargen was so cringeworthy that I would have instantly dumped the game without mods.

Obviously, we don't have (real) mods in ESO so I was apprehensive coming to ESO. I was delighted to learn that I could build a good looking character fairly easily and remember being quite impressed. After several years playing ESO, okay, I'll get picky and admit that a wider range for most sliders would be nice. More than that though, I would like the height sliders to have much more range so we can make exceptions to the height that 'most members' of a particular race have. I confess this comes from a very narrow focus that I have - I only play Bosmer who are either archers or mages. Given the particular quirks of ESO racial limitations, I would actually like my mages to be very short Altmer that I can call Bosmer. Now, that said, my Bosmer mages do quite well actually.

Actually, @Acadian, you may have hit on why it's the way it is. If the intent of the developers was to prevent an Altmer looking like a Bosmer, or any other pair of races merging looks, then they achieved it. Of course, that does not account for limitations on Khajiit or Argonians, but one system has to fit all. More slider range might have been possible without leaving that constraint, too.

And whatever they give us, it will have limits, and someone will want to go beyond them. My gripes are mostly where the body or face doesn't match reasonable expectations. Like why is there only one shape for a nose? You can change its size, in a couple of ways, but not the basic shape. Skyrim's shape selection was preferable there.

FYI it doesn't even presently work.

What you select in character creation or change (with a token) isn't necessarily what you'll get.

As long as it doesn’t mess with our current characters faces I’d be fine with this.

The current one is good but I find that most look the same. It would be really nice to have more indepth options, maybe it could be part of a future update.
