Gold Lead Cool down?

Just curious if there's a cool down for collecting gold leads, I've been collecting leads for the Dwarven Ebon Wolf and last night, I picked up the Large Aetherium Lenses, Aetherquzartz Tonal Resonatorm and after 15 tries (no exaggerating) the Ebon Dwarven Wolf Head never dropped. I started off this morning from where I left off, and the Dwarven head drops the first time around. I've ran both Darkshade Caverns 5 times each with no gold lead drops. Truly frustrating.

There is no cooldown. Ask anyone farming the Void Crystal Anomaly to level up alts...

It has definitely felt to me like there is a cooldown and a much lower chance to get gold leads a second time (for furniture, I mean — not the pieces you can’t get a second time).

But the human mind is demonstrably terrible with perceived odds and coincidences, in that we frequently “see” and think things that aren’t supported statistically, so I’m not sure if there’s an actual cooldown or just ZOSNG making us think there is.

There is no cooldown, but the RNG is fierce. Just try get multiple Aldmeri Musicboxes - the safebox lead might be found on your first try or require looting 300+ safeboxes... The leads from dungeons typically have about a 2-5% drop rate though, in my experience.

Not in my experience. I recently reacquired a second Thrassian Stranglers. Fishing up the part in Artaeum took about 15min and once I got it I headed straight to Stros M'Kai for the other. After 2 fishing pools, I got the Bouyant Steel. Not long after that, I logged into another character and did the Western Skyrim public dungeon and got a gold lead for the Snow Treaders. It's RNG through and through to me.

Tell me about it! I’m still trying to get the first copy of the third lead for that box... over five months and counting.
