My level is Champion 348 and I still cannot pick a lock. What is the trick to picking a damn lock??

I cannot for the life of me pick a lock without sound for some reason. When I'm not forcing it anyway.

Patience and focus are virtues. Notice when the pin starts to wobble as that is about the point you need to stop moving the pick and the in will stay in place. I expect the link.

Also, get max legerdemain to get the passives for forcing a lock. I cannot remember the last time I have actually picked a lock. The passive in that line is great.

For me, I just wait for my controller to vibrate. I've literally picked locks with my eyes closed, to see if I could. XD I'm not sure if pc people have that feature though.

Or disadvantage depending on the person. I had to turn vibration off on mine. It distracted me too much when I lockpicked. By now though I just force the locks xD

Character level doesn't affect lock picking at all. It's all down to player skill at the mini-game.

I suppose you've noticed that the point at which you fail with a pin is the point you need to release it? So expect one fail to tell you where, followed by a success. That should mean that each pin takes two attempts, or maybe three if it's reluctant to latch. The simple locks give you enough time for that. Once it'[s working for you, the higher levels will start to be achievable.

I uses an simple brute force method, press down until it snap back, repeat and push down to where it snapped and release.
Obviously if it goes all the way to the bottom you release there.
This works on all chests, exception is if you are very unlucky on advanced and master can require couple of tries.

Best solution however is to level up legerdemain and get to locksmith 4.
To do that steal and then sell or launder lots of items to an fence, the apple orchard south of main town in Craglorn is perfect as apples stack and the area reset then you enter the nearby thief guild.

omg really? It doesn't even need controller or any sound for that matter. Look out for shaking pins. All it needs is you to have an average person's reflexes. Let go of the pin just a teeny bit after it starts shaking.
