Clannfear Vanishing every few minutes.

I'm good to my Clannfear I let it eat any bodies we lay flat if it so wishes and I always tend to its wounds before my own after a battle and will find a big stick so we can play fetch the stick in play time. So I don't understand why it keeps leaving me every few minutes. Craglorn is the worst honestly I have had to recall it 4 times in the last half hour and that's just farming the area and not getting into any fights so it isn't getting killed it just vanishes. Anyone else having this problem ?

Clannfear are very needy. If they don't have a spot on both bars, they will run away from you.

I do have it on both bars, I'll try removing from both and putting it back. After I wrote the post I turned around and it was gone again, might be breeding season and it can smell a mate somewhere, dunno

Do you use the "rapid riding" add-on and have configured the slot where the clannfear is slotted?
If so - change the slot. If not - I'm out, bc I never had something like this without the add-on

No I don't have the add-on, I gave up and left it wherever it is now. If it keeps happening today I'll do a bug report.

I don't know if it'll help but I had this with my familiar (xbox EU). Re-logging fixed the issue for me

I have seen this recently on Xbox as well. I fixed it for my character by dismissing the clanfear and resummoning.

I used to have something similar happen to my Clannfear, and trying to resummon it didn't help-- I had to dismiss it first, then resummon it. I figured maybe it was getting stuck inside a rick or something. It hasn't happened again in a long time, though.

Thanks guys for you thoughts and ideas. Logged right out of the game and came back. It still happens but i narrowed it down to the area by the Bangkorai gate west side of Craglorn mostly near the water well where Captain Graalug is standing.. it's around there the clannfear vanishes.. so might just be a bug in that area. No biggie though it seems ok in most other parts of Craglorn.

There are a few spots in the game where the clannfear (and I guess the other combat pets) will despawn. The first one I found is outside the temple in Rawl-kha near the mages guild. Another one is at the gardens on Tenmar temple in N. Elsweyr.

There are others spots like that all over the map, but I can't remember the locations. I reported the one in Rawl when I was going through the story there, but it was never fixed. I didn't bother reporting any of the other ones.

Summoning them back while standing in the same spot won't help as they'll just vanish again.

I don't think the problem was a buggy location when it used to happen to me way back when, since dismissing the Clannfear without moving to a different spot and then resummoning it would always fix the issue, whereas trying to resummon it without dismissing it first never had any effect-- and the fact that it was still listed as an active effect on the character screen meant that it was already summoned, even if it couldn't be seen. And since the issue always seemed to happen with enemies around, all I could figure was that an enemy had knocked it into a rock or a wall and it couldn't get out.

But there definitely are certain locations in the game that seem buggy, such as a spot in the southwest corner of Northern Elsweyr that would always crash the game on my MacBook Air.

He would still heal me when I couldn't see him. He was in the game somewhere. It was happening to me this weekend in Shadowfen and Eastmarch.

The area around Bankori Gate is the worst for forced despawnings. There's also the gate between Stormhaven and Rivenspire and the area around the wayshrine in Lightless Hollow in Blackreach. Given that it takes a few uninterrupted seconds to respawn the bear, it is very annoying. I'm on Xbox so its the game, not addons.
