Random Daedra dropping from sky?!

phil.maricel08ub17_ESO
There are a few random places that these random events happen very, very often. I personally haven't seen them drop since the event started, has anyone else noticed this? I'm only asking because I was told that the last guy drops a skull also. I'm just thinking its odd that the event seems to be happening far less.

It's a "random" encounter which spawns in pre-determined spots, they are all over the place. The last mob indeed drops a skull.

FYI: It's part of the base game story and it only happens in base game locations.

Thanks for the input everyone. While I more than realize that they are "random", the locations are far less random and actually seem tb be set locations more than not. For example, outside of the Harborage in Glenumbra, it happens the very, very often multiple times a day. Along with a few other locations it happens very often as well. If anything, the occurrences are indeed more "random" than the locations. All i was saying, that even with the known (very common) locations, that I just haven't seen any(none) since the event started. Maybe just very unlucky RNG for me. I will be fine with the rest of the other drops I guess. Take care.

They are happening randomly in fixed locations around base game zones, similar to dolmens.

No, they can be anywhere, not necessarily near dolmens. For instance, there's a spot outside of Daggerfall that's sort of near The Harborage, and another that's not too far from the ruins with all the imps around it, etc. They don't always drop Daedra, though; they can drop vampires and other enemies instead.

Y'know.... I actually feel as if I proc these. There are places that I wind up going for reasons... and just about every time I land there they proc There's one at the area where Stormhaven has the bridge to Bangkorai - close to the boss up the hill. There's another in Bangkorai, just past the Nilata Ruins wayshrine. Those pop EVERY TIME I'm in those areas. There are others, but I can't bring them to mind right now...

I've always assumed these drop when someone comes close to their location. Like the daedra are ambushing you.

That's how it works. They don't appear randomly on a timer. When their internal timer says one is ready to go, it waits for a player proximity trigger event.

It's a fun system that should be expanded to non-vanilla zones.

The area outside Daggerfall is perfect to park a char and log in once per day to quickly farm tickets and 3 dremora skulls.
The Impresario is just outside Ilessan Tower, and there are 3 mini dolmen locations and a world boss on the way to Silumm.

I didn't know you could get dolmen dremora skulls from the mini dolmens as you call them, but a regular dolmen is also pretty close to Daggerfall.

I too had been thinking that the area right around Daggerfall is a great location for this event, because you can quickly grab four skulls, not three-- public dungeon (Bad Man's Hallows), delve (either Silumm or Ilessan Tower), world boss (Western Overlook), and dolmen (either Daenia Dolmen or one of the mini dolmens).

Does anyone else have a favorite zone for doing this event?

Addendum: I forgot to add that if you own Captain Margaux's Place, it makes a great place to fast travel to after farming for skulls, because the crafting stations for deconstructing all the trash gear and glyphs you picked up are just outside, as is the bank.

The vampire ones have been added since Greymoor but the daedra ones as all have said are base game and never seen them anywhere outside of vanilla locations.

There are multiple places in game where they consistently drop when you pass by, and you come to remember as you do surveys etc.

Was on my way to a delve this event when a mini anchor very kindly landed on my head and saved me the trouble 8)

There are some "new" vampire and werewolf ones that were added with Greymoor, but AFAIK they're in established locations. Example, the location just outside Wayrest, between the crafting dropoff area and the farm with the daedric world boss, where you can see a summoner who needs saving, or a merchant and guard getting attacked, or a thief trying to break into a chest ("You broke my pick!"), now also has a victim who needs saving from vampires and a group of werewolves who just survived an apparent attack by werewolf hunters.

However, the spots that have the daedra always had a chance to spawn vampires-- not the new vampires who are getting ready to feast on a victim, but a different group of vampires.

They spawn all around world bosses in Deshaan. May be the case for any base zone but if you are near a world boss just run around and you may trigger one.

I've just been doing Sincano in Silumm for tickets - I need one more feather each on 2nd account both PC servers and main account EU (to get the nascent indrik again on them), so that means I'm done today. Silumm is easy peasy to get to the boss really quick.... I got all the dremora pages last couple of years, and I'm not really very interested in the Grave Digger (or is it Dancer?) ones, not to mention the rest of it's not worth messing with.

Scattered throughout the world are random encounter locations. They can be anything from a summoner, people fighting, ad bandit ambush, death hunters (the newest one introduced with Greymoor which are specialized in killing vampires and werewolves), and of course these Coldharbour incursions. Some maps I've found online include the spawns for these random events and you can find them on almost every single open world map in the game. Some exceptions include Arteaum for instance.

I find the boss in Ilessan Tower to be easier/quicker to get to than the boss in Silumm, but you might be taking a different route than me (I take a left and stay on the ground level rather than heading down the stairs and going up the other stairs).

Also, Ilessan Tower is right there by the Impresario, which is really convenient for spending your tickets afterward.

Yeah, I take the first right, then the first left, down stairs, back up stairs, then through the hall to the boss area. I got my three nascent indriks today, though so I'm done until New Life - I got way too burned out on events the first year I played; now I just do enough to get what I need. The stuff from this event isn't anything I really wanted other than the tickets.

I know how you feel, but I always enjoy the events, mainly because they poke me with a stick and get me to do content that I probably haven't done in a while.

Now that I've been doing daily crafting writs on all of my characters-- not as many as some players have, just 8 on PC NA and 7 on PC EU-- I find I'm in a rut of doing the writs and then wanting to call it a day, because I don't use add-ons and I like to pay attention to which style mats I'm using, plus I have to visit the mount trainer on several of my characters, and then remember to visit the silent supplier in the Outlaws Refuge on one character, plus deconstructing or selling or banking stuff afterward, so it's a bit of a daily grind that can take a little while, and I sometimes need to be prodded into doing something else in the game before logging off for the day.

But even though I enjoy the events, I do tend to do a minimum amount for each one-- more than just grabbing the tickets, but definitely not several hours of grinding for reward boxes on multiple characters like some players do.

And by the time most events are getting close to their last day, I'm looking at the impending end with a sense of relief. Oddly enough, the ones I've wished could last just another week longer have been the Cyrodiil and Imperial City events, and I'm not much into PvP!

I spent the first year in the game unable to do things like delves, so I was picking events that didn't require a whole lot of combat - I couldn't reliably bar swap, sometimes couldn't get a heal off to stay alive. Then I got better internet (still satellite, but HughesNet is so much better than WildBlue....) By the middle of the second year, I had my first 50 and started doing events when it was something not pvp, as I simply won't mess with pvp any more (did in both WoW and RIFT, SO not fun for me....)

I enjoy the events as long as I don't try to do them on all 58 characters....

    [Edit for blowing quoting....]
